I'm getting a new viper on Tuesday the 7th Stryker Purple and want to protect at least the front bumper and behind the wheels. Should I look into this Xpel clear film protector? Thanks, Scott

I just bought Xpel Track Wrap for the trip home from detroit, we'll see how it holds up to 2000+ miles of road debris. I really hope it works well, I know the normal pro installed clear bra stuff has saved the front end and rockers of other cars I have owned.

Just did Xpel on full hood, front bumper, air dam (its an ACR-E), front part of roof, door edge, rocker panels, and rear rockers... on Stryker Green... can't see it at all... made driving a much less worrisome affair...

ClearBra Indy in Carmel, Doug. They also did a full cover on a 2014 Coupe. They are hosting our July meeting. See link: http://clearbraindy.com/company-history/

I'm sure a debate will start. But I'll throw my 2 cents in and you can do your own research and decide for yourself. Xpel will never be on another vehicle of mine ever again. But Suntek goes on all my vehicles now. People have all different sorts of opinions on the matter, and I'm not going to argue with anyone, just relating my own personal experience. Xpel yellows on any vehicle I've had it on, and it leaves a distinct ugly line on the hood. All my Suntek'd vehicles look clear as glass, and the film is damn near invisible.

And I know I'm not alone as more than a few people here posted about their Xpel yellowing on the side sills where it gets hot.

Can't speak regarding Xpel, but after researching, I went with Suntek as well and extremely pleased.

I had my ENTIRE 2011 Carbon Edition Z06 wrapped in Xpel. It was done by the original owner. I traded that car in on my 14 GTS a few weeks ago. Until the day I traded it you really could not see the film, and it never yellowed. They have a warranty against tears and yellowing anyhow where they'd replace it for free.
When the car arrived to me when I bought it, there was a tear in the door piece of film. I contacted Xpel and they arranged for me to have the door recovered for free.

Others opinions will vary, as is the case with ANY product..That's why I really don't put all that much stock in reviews..Usually it's 50-50 good/bad anyway. But when it's 80/20 I'll seriously take that into consideration.

Just my $0.02 worth.

I had the full hood covered in Suntek since it appears smoother, then the standard bumper areas, rockers, rear panels in Xpel.

They're finishing mine up as I type this. I was worried about the lines showing up on the black. I can honestly say you cannot see them unless you know where to look. Almost invisible!!

I have Suntek on the wife's Durango and Xpel on the Hellcat.

Suntek is thinner, but you can't see it as much on dark colors. Xpel is a little thicker and more easily visible from my experience... especially if you are doing partial hood.

Have xpel on mine and have been happy. You can see the seam in the right light but generally its invisible. One word of warning if you decide to get the hood done, make sure they order the right kit (6 or 2 vent hood), ours was ordered wrong at first and delayed it getting done.

I dont quite get this... Why get an ultra uber clear beautiful perfect custom paint job... then wrap it in subpar plastic?

Youre kidding yourself if you think you cant see it. These cars stick out like sore thumbs most of the time.

Someone posted a picture of their nose emblem and the clear plastic was very obvious.

I can understand the color change guys, or stripes or whatever but the clear.... it looks bad.

I hear you...I'm just freaked about paint chips on a $14,000 factory paint job. I would rather not do it. I may just do the front and sides and leave the rest. Thanks for your input...

Same reason you get a $1 plastic film to cover the screen on your $700 phone. It's insurance. And if done right, you don't see it unless you're really close or if you touch it. Maybe you've seen some bad film jobs?

Only way you can tell the Suntek is on my '13 LE is to feel it. Maybe it's not that way on all colors. I would not be without, hate stone chips, had them, don't like them.

Bottom line is you can never perfectly fix a stone chip, scratch, scrape, etc...especially on a Prefix painted car. You can always replace clear wraps. Again, who doesn't put a $1 screen protector on the phone? And we're arguing about protecting a $15-30K paint job that is not perfectly replaceable?

BEWARE of track wrap. It pulled the paint off my front bumper in one spot, the paint had over 45 days to cure so we thought it would be fine. Turns out, its not.
