Hey yall!

I think its getting about time for a Viper meet in central florida!

Hows the 2nd weekend in July sound to meet up at Daytona beach.... throw a frisbie......get a tan........line the cars up and take some cool pics on the beach?

I really want to make it out to one of these events. That July weekend I'm not on the work schedule, so I should be free. It's unpredictable with the little one, but it's going on the calendar and I hope to make it out there.

Those of you that have trailers (open and enclosed) for your car, how much do they weigh, what kind of tongue weight are they? Do they have their own braking systems, how much would I be looking at to get one?

I'm always going out of town but leaving the Viper behind and am wondering if towing it around would be feasible with my Flex. Only issue is the 4500 lbs tow rating. :( I think I'll just need to get an SRT8 GC.

Those of you that have trailers (open and enclosed) for your car, how much do they weigh, what kind of tongue weight are they? Do they have their own braking systems, how much would I be looking at to get one?

I'm always going out of town but leaving the Viper behind and am wondering if towing it around would be feasible with my Flex. Only issue is the 4500 lbs tow rating. :( I think I'll just need to get an SRT8 GC.

Isn't the Flex a front wheel drive vehicle? I would never tow a car with something like that. SRT8 Jeep is the way to go, Ron tows his new ACR with his.

No, a Flex is not safe to tow a car with. If you get an open trailer the SRT Jeep is awesome. Youll love if for lots of reasons along with being able to tow 9k with the newer 8spd trans.

Thanks for the advice about the car. I actually have the ecoboost 3.5 which comes with AWD, so its no slouch, but it would be stretching the limits of its GVWR and tow rating, so you guys are probably right.

If the Trackhawk becomes a reality maybe I can convince my wife to trade in her Accord, LOL :).

Wow, the SRT Cherokee can tow 9K? That's impressive. I thought cherkees topped out at like 6 ish. That's plenty of capacity to tow a viper on an open trailer. Plenty. There are some pretty light and affordable enclosed trailers these days too though. Someone posted one recently, I wish I could remember the brand cause the specs on it were pretty good.

There are a few on Facebook who are coming from Tampa. Yall could also meet up with me in Ocala and head to Daytona from there. Would probably be a quicker drive to go from Tampa to Ocala- and then Ocala to Daytona. I live very near SR 40. and about 5 miles off I 75.
