Master Blaster vs Leaf Blower?

Guys
I have no real objection to using towels to dry my car and large surfaces are covered in clear bra. That said, I would like to cut the time to dry, use less towels and get better results (towels still can leave a bit of a streak sometimes).

I was going to try to get most of the water off with a leaf blower then towel dry. Is there some big advantage in getting a $350 blaster that has warmed, filtered air? Seems like a lot of money for the frequency which I would use it (I don't own a detailer business).

Thoughts?

the more you touch your car with a rag,the more scratches you get,period.... the blaster has a lot of force,2 stages of it with warm air, no rag needed

I am keeping it, but will let you know if I change my mind, I also have a water purification system that makes soft water. don't use that much either.

Used Bob's master Blaster at the spring party. No way a leaf blower would/could get the water out of the nooks and cracks...Takes 5 mins to completely dry my car...Bought one when I got home..

The blaster does a better job overall, but is a little less convenient to use IMO....dragging the hose around, rolling the blower around the car....kind of like a ball and chain. :) I find the leaf blower a little more convenient.

They now sell a MB with a wall mount and 30ft hose. I thought that would eliminate the dog on a chain problem of dragging that can around and dealing with extension cords. I am lucky I have a power outlet 2ft from my garage door so I can mount the can right there and just unwind the hose from its own wall bracket and use it. 30ft should allow me to dry two cars next to each other without moving the cars or the can.

You should be able to buy the extra hose and wall mount pretty cheap if that made it easier and beat the leaf blower in performance.

I do rinseless unless the car gets really dirty. I use my gas powered hand held Stihl leaf blower when I do hose the cars off but I extended the tube by using 1 section from the gutter cleaning accessory kit that I have for it in order to keep the motor and exhaust away from the car.

I've used the Master Blaster for about three years. Wouldn't go back to using a leaf blower.

FYI, you are blowing 2 stroke exhaust all over your car...Most of the exhaust is drawn in through the intake portion of the fan/blower..

I find it hard to believe that someone would use a leaf blower when they have a Master Blaster...When I'm feeling that unmotivated why would I even wash the car??? L0L

I have the Master Blaster and really like it. It also has the heated/filtered air, which you are not going to get with the leaf blower.

There is no comparison to between a MB and leaf blower. It's much faster, gets in hard to reach spots and has warm air. I'm on my second one.

Watched your video on the comparison. You came to the same conclusion that i came to. What i think makes the biggest difference in drying time is having a freshly waxed car.

leaf blower drys the car super fast as long as there is a recent coat of wax on the car. Otherwise it takes longer as the water doesn't clump together as easily.

The wax part is as key as the paint being clayed. If the paint has been clayed, polished and waxed, the majority of the water comes off in BUCKETS during the pooling rinse. Once you hit it with the Master Blaster or the electric leaf blower, it's a done deal.

I have some small scratches that i think can come out with polish. What do you recommend for this procedure?

Polish by hand? Small slow speed buffer??

I use a leafeblower. All air is heated here in AZ. And I have never had a problem with it not blowing hard enough. I've seen people use compressed air in the nooks and crannies but that sleeves me out. Blowing air that intense at seals just doesn't feel right. But the leafeblower works fine for me. And then if I get a small run under the mirrors or whatever, I just catch it with a clean waffle towell.

Also, having good water is key. I use the griots in line filter and it does wonders for our ultra hard water out here. It makes it so that when the water evaporates, it doesn't leave dissolved solids behind (spots)
