Cross Brace on 2014 is rubbing on.....

I just noticed on the 2014 GTS we just had delivered that the hood pad has been rubbing on the X-Brace. Have any of you had this happening. I really want to buy a CF X-Brace for it but I don't want it getting wore through on the clear.

Yep... the metal rubs. I painted my metal one. Shut the hood before paint dried and it ruined the job. Never heard of an issue with the CF one getting damaged....i have CF now and no issues.

Painted mine also but I put a nose emblem on. I have not noticed any rubbing on the emblem or markings on the hood pad.

u have to be careful with the rubbing bc the manual says, the more u rub it, the bigger it grows, sorry just a little humor.

NightStalker, That looks great in black. What type of smooth tubes are you running and how do you like them??

There are signs of rubbing on the brace on my GTS. wondering if it's a hood alignment issue which is why it only appears on some.

My '13 with aluminum brace has black wear marks all over the center.

Smooth tubes are from RSI. I love the tubes. I think Andy has some on his car. I took the idea from him.

All the parts were hand sanded and painted by me. Took some time, but when winter is long 8-9 months up here I have time.

The nose emblem if you notice is flat. They come curved from the factory. I hit it with a rubber hammer on some pine. Two hits flattened it out so it will sit on the x-brace. I was a little nervous about this part but was like here goes nothing and no damage to the emblem after hitting it.

I think it turned out great.
