What a great time at the NOLA track day. This was the reason Deb and I drove the TA down from Canada to the Gulf! More on the trip and highlights later but here's what a bone stock TA can do on track! Enjoy!

Good stuff!
Did your backup camera turn on at the end there?

Yes, I see the backup camera did come on for some reason, and I've never noticed it do that before. Has anyone else seen that happen?

Thanks for posting! I think you'd be a lot faster downshifting into 2nd going into the slower slower turns.
Loved hearing those tires howl!!!! Props to driving the car down from Canada then hitting the track hard!

It seems like it happened right after shifting into 5th. Like the sensor thought you were going into reverse or something....

I was definitely faster going into corners, with car moving around a fair bit on entry into some, but settled for a gear up coming out to save the tires a bit. When we get back home we're basically just doing laundry and heading off another 8 hours to Le Circuit Mont Tremblant in Quebec for a day with Rennsport PCA's club racers and instructors. That's several thousand miles, 2 track days, and there will be a lot of red mist at Tremblant for one set of Corsa's...oh, and we even did the Tail Of The Dragon yesterday :)
Boba Fett rode with me for previous sessions and I'll post up a video of those highlights when I get some more computer time. But I have to say that he was absolutely fearless at telling me to go faster! I also prepared for this track by studying XSnake's thread with track video and corner by corner description. That was very helpful.

Nice video Bruce. Thanks for sharing. Fantastic way to spend a few days. Few thousand miles street and track in a TA. Looking forward to the write up.

Nice runs Bruce ! Loved the fact that you drove from Canada to New Orleans , and did track time to the point of tire screeching through the apex , and drove home via the "Dragon" !!! That's gotta qualify for some award !...lol ! ;)

Bruce, May and I had a great time with Deb and you in NO. Just watching that vid makes me want to drive back there and do that track again. Good times!

Thanks a lot guys. Great to share the enthusiasm for tracking and hope more of our members get a chance to experience it!

This was an easy track to learn quickly, and a very safe one to drive enthusiastically...and loudly!
Deb needed to get some TA seat time to prepare for doing our club track school next month so I kind of tricked her into taking the wheel as we approached the Dragon, and damn if she wasn't on it before she knew it and had to keep going! We switched back 11 miles and 318 later when we got down to Deal's Gap! Thanks for (so strongly) recommending we do it!

Going to have to also blame their good friends and partners in crime, Lloyd and Angie!

You too, Todd. Hopefully one day we can get out on track together...and to one of the wineries if the girls get their way! Going to have to check MapQuest to San Jose!
Nice driving Bruce. Very good lines. Glad you had a great time at the track. The weather was perfect.
Thanks Ron! This was the first track that I hadn't ever driven before since I started tracking the TA. Job 1 is obviously to learn "the line" and once you nail that you can start putting together some decent lap times.
What surprised me is how I could go into a corner way off the mark, do pretty major correction mid corner, and not put the car into a spin or really upset it to any degree. I was sure the rear was going to pass the front on a few occasions when I went in pretty hot, and pretty wrong, but I came out roses every time. The car just has uncanny balance, is very forgiving, and never tried to kill us once! I just wish automotive journalists had the skill to test, analyze and report on these cars accurately.
Good to meet you Bruce! Nice vid, and driving.

Good to meet you as well, and thanks again for your help a couple of years ago...I might have bought a 911 GT3 otherwise and suffered the indignity of someone else in a TA kicking my ass!

Oh come on now, stop that ;) Glad we got to do the track day together, Steve, that was awesome!

The ACR vids from NVE show that those guys were a lot faster, but hey, none could touch us for tire squealing!!! Maybe we could have beat them with our Corsa's in the rain...or snow? :)

Awesome meeting you Bruce. My favorite part of the whole event was meeting people from the forums that I hadn't meet in person before.

We finally got back from NVE tonight. At 3700+ miles, 13 days, a great NVE, and many outstanding experiences along the way, this road trip has been epic! There wasn't a single mile that we were not thrilled to be driving the Viper, and with a little careful packing we had room for the helmet and everything else we needed to be well prepared and very comfortable on the trip. Next road trip won't be as far, and starts in 4 days!
Hope to see more of you at a track one day soon!
Edit: fixed...were not
