I was at Road Atlanta a couple weeks ago and met a lot of interesting people. I had the opportunity to met Ted from here(his ACR is gorgeous).
What i neglected to do was ask one of the kind folks there with ACRs to sit in it with my helmet on. So, I'm 6'1" and soooo hope there is enough room.
Any 6' + folks here that track? Is there room? I am using a Bell Vador helmet if that matters.

I believe Ted is about that height. Should not be a problem. Best, Allan

I'm 6'2" and my ACR has the seat lowering kit. There is a lot of headroom on the lowered driver seat compared to very little in the passenger seat. I haven't had a helmet on in the car yet, but there are several inches of headroom and I dont foresee an issue. If nobody else here is similar height with the exact info you're looking for, I'd be happy to sit in the car with a helmet on and tell you what you need to know.

Thanks for the reply Allan! Were you out there with the Black ACR? I didn't get around to chatting with everyone.

Much appreciated, I was thinking of the lowering seat bracket if nothing else.

I think its a 100% must-do. I don't even like sitting in the passenger seat because of the seat height. I wish they would make lowering brackets for that seat too.

100% do the seat lowering. many people have done the seat lowering, from 6' to 6'5"
I would do it if I was you just for added room all over.

Be careful. Torso length is more critical than overall height. Not all 6'2" people are the same height when sitting down.

I'm 6'1", thin build, 33" inseam, and don't have the seat lowering kit. I fit fine, even with a helmet. But last week, a friend and I swapped cars for a 3 hour drive. I have a TA2.0 and he has a Gen IV ACR. I kept thinking how pleasant it was in his car... Not something you'd expect from the last Gen ACR. Then I realized why. I had a WAY better view, thanks to his seat lowering kit. In my car - which has the exact same windshield as his- I'm almost ducking down to see out, especially on the left on account of the roof curving down towards the side. I honestly hadn't really noticed how bad I had it until I drove his car. So, like the others are saying, you should get the lowering kit. If not for headroom, then for the view out. I'm ordering one.

How hard is it to install the lowering kit?
How hard is it to install the lowering kit?
Not too bad if you have skinny arms and hands. If you aren't installing a harness it is even easier. Hard part for people with bigger arms and hands would be tightening the bolts behind the seat as the kit puts it in a fixed position further back. You can help yourself a bit by raising the seat to maximum height once you drop it in, as it pushes it forward a little.
Most trouble I had was setting the proper slack length on the harness lap belts. Only way I could figure out the proper length was with the seat in, which means I can't get access to adjust the slack. So I took the seat in and out too many times to get it right.
I highly recommend going overboard with tape and towel protection on all the trim and door bits. The seat is awkward to tilt in and out, you can very easily scrape up various parts against the seats bottom rails when trying to do this.

6' here. When I wore a helmet in the car there really want much room at all. Enough, but not much to spare I guess is what I mean.
I had to like lean into the center console/pass seat area to put the helmet on.

as long as it fits while you are driving you are good. Getting it on well everyone has their own technique .

Can the lowering kit work on the passenger side as well? I would like to do both sides.

I don't believe so. If you find that it does please update here because I will buy it asap.

Wow, very glad you are alive. I can't imagine how bad the car looked to crack a few ribs (unless the seatbelts caused it). Hope you heal quickly, broken ribs are difficult :(
