View Full Version : Powdercoating Stock Gen V Chrome rims - Real Chrome?

I am looking to get my stock 5 spoke rims powdercoated but the shop is saying if they are real chrome it would not be possible. He is saying most manufacturers don't use real chrome anymore and instead some kind of spray on/polish?
Tried calling Mark and Andy already but they were not able to answer the call - I'll try again later.

EDIT: Called mark and it's not real chrome. Awesome! I cannot see a way to delete this thread though hah

Yeah I think you can only chrome dip steel wheels anyway. You can have aluminum wheels polished to a "near" chrome finish but it wont be exactly like chrome.

I'm not a chrome wheel guy at all, but the chrome Rattlers look so nice on red and blue Gen V Vipers.

i had my 6 spoke aluminium wheels chrome coated with car show quality chrome , but I know manufacturers up here have moved to Mexico .

They are polished aluminum wheels, with a clear coat on top :)
