For those who have installed the Tomball lowering caps:

In searching the forums, there was one very respected Viper tech/mechanic/shop owner who indicated that "helper springs" may be necessary to keep them indexed appropriately. (Hopefully I didn't mutilate the reasoning.) Is everyone using helper springs? If so, where can I source these (vendor, model number, etc)

Thank you.

It's only potentially needed in the rear. Back when I was running caps, I did not use helper springs. I just took my time and kept the spring indexed properly the first time I put the spring into compression (when tightening the mounting bolts). After that initial compression, I never had an issues with spring slack.

Just my experience.

If you had to use a helper you would ultimately loose all you gained from the caps...

I'm running the lowering caps, and run pretty hard on the track and I am very happy with them. I'm not sure what these "helper springs" are supposed to do.
