I have a Sommer direct drive. Quiet as can be.

For the life of me I cannot get it to pair with the Viper.

Anyone have help for a rolling code door opener?

Is a "rolling code" door opener the kind with the little switches you can change to change the frequency? I believe that's the kind I have. Mine is a super old "Steel Craft" door opener that was installed when the house was first built back in '94. They don't even make the door openers anymore. Despite this, I didn't have any trouble pairing my opener to the Viper. As I recall there were some instructions to be followed that required the lights to flash etc. I don't remember them exactly. What is yours doing when you follow the instructions?

Make sure they are compatible 1st.
I know that newer garage door openers use a different frequency today.
I have newer doors and my 2013 Viper pairs. The 2006 and 2008 vehicles do not.

I didn't have any problem programming mine, but I did notice that on my ACR the transmitter is very very weak as compared to my TA.

Not sure if they switched the parts on the 16's.

After pairing the remote, did you hit the learn button on the door opener and go through that step as well?

If you cannot get it to work due to incompatibility, you can buy a remote receiver that IS on the compatibility list for not much $$ and have something that works......that has been my workaround in the past.

Mine works intermittently. Hunk of shit. I have a spare remote in the glove box.

My '13 Ram works flawlessly. My '13 and my '14 Viper never worked, same garage doors.

I had a extra garage space when I built my house a couple years ago that I never installed a opener on because I never used it. Now I park the viper in it and just had a opener installed 2 weeks ago and it paired instantly. In fact it's the easiet of my cars to program. Normally I have to mess around with the unit on the ceiling running back and forth to the car for the other cars, but the viper I just used the handheld remote held right up to the mirror and it paired right up when I pressed the buttons. It was odd I was able to use the remote when none of my other cars can be programmed that easy.

Biggest issue I have had when pairing a homelink system, is they tell you to just keep pressing the button in the car until it pairs. But it seems like you have to hold the button for a few seconds to get a signal out of it. In the Lexus, as soon as I held the button instead of continuously pressing it, it paired right up.

This!!! was pulling my hair out until I came across this procedure randomly on a different forum

On my 15 it's quite weak as well. My Ram opens the door before I hit my block, the Viper has to be in the driveway. Not sure how they'd even fix that..........

I missed that post earlier. The first step of programming the built in car remote or any remote for that matter, is to hit the learn button on the back of the opener motor panel in the garage. Are you guys talking about a learn button on the handheld remote? Or did you miss the first step to the procedure somehow?

What worked for me was to pair the opener remote with the homelink, then hit the learn button on the door opener itself (motor) then press/hold the home link button again and everything was good
