Hey viper guys and gals. Over the winter months I've been kicking around an idea in my head, but have had a lot of things going on and was pushed to the back burner. So here it is, I want to see if there is any interest in doing a weekend cruise up to Vermont. This could be a trip for everyone, with factory tours at breweries (Harpoon, Magic hat), a chocolate factory, Vermont Teddy Bear, and even Ben and Jerry's factory tour. And pending on time there is a couple other factories off the beaten path. If we have a group interested I'll start working out details, and call around for group rates and such. If anyone has any ideas please let me know. I was nervous even putting this out, but I'll do my best if people are interested.

Cold hollow cider mill, Dakin farms on Rt 7, Vermont country store are a few places I visit on vacation sometimes when I'm up there.

If the ride works out some suggestions that may be of interest: Yankee Candle is on the way off Rt 91 - and there is plenty of parking. Beyond that is a Bridge of Flowers in Shelburne Falls, MA, By the Harpoon brewery is Woodstock, VT - quaint town but parking is tough. Bentley's is a nice pub place right in the center of Woodstock. Gillingham's, across from Bentley's is the oldest operating general store in the US, A few miles away is Quechee Gorge, a short ride from there is Vermont Spirits where they make/bottle the best bourbon I tasted in a long time (aged in barrels with a hint maple syrup), sometimes they have vodka, right near there is Simon Pearce where glass is made - pricey but beautiful glass. with a nice restaurant right on the river and plenty of parking.

Years ago I went on a cruise with the New England group on a Saturday. We met somewhere in New Hampshire and cruised some routes, stopped somewhere for lunch, then continued and took Vermont Route 100 and ended up at Ben & Jerrys. Vt route 100 is one of the most scenic highways in America. We all went our separate ways after that. My parents don't live far from there so I would be interested. The Cold Hollow Cider Mill, the chocolate place, glass blowing place, and place where they carve statues from wood with a chainsaw are all on rt100 in the Stowe area and the Von Trapp family lodge (think The Sound Of Music) is also not too far. I've stayed at the Green Mountain Inn on rt100 in Stowe, its a nice place. You should place a link to this thread on New England's site since it's their region and maybe many of them would be interested. Contact me if you have any questions.

Thanks Jimmy for the idea's. Take a look at this map and let me know what you all think for the Saturday drive. I started it at the fairfield because I'd probably drive up Friday night. I'm not really a morning person. We could continue up to Stowe or head to Burlington, I'll call and see what they can do for us with the parking situation. Burlington looks like it could be a interesting city and it puts us in line for shorter day on Sunday so everyone can get home early. I'll work that map out next. Thanks again guys.
