After months of work, we are pleased to announce the NVE2 doorprize car. VOA is proud to unveil the Voodoo II – our New Orleans-themed National Viper Event 2 door prize! Yes, some lucky attendee will drive home in this brand new Viper! Inspired by the limited-edition Gen IV Voodoo Viper, this brand new 2016 Gen V Viper features dual GTS-style Billet Silver stripes with red tracers, matching black/silver/red mirrors, and NVE2 logos inside and out to commemorate the event. The hyper-black 5-spoke Rattler wheels are reminiscent of the 5-spoke wheels that came on the Gen IV Voodoo. The Voodoo II is finished off with a carbon fiber wing and dive planes from Collector’s Choice.

Follow along here as the car is built by the Conner Avenue Assembly Plant, and then sent to Scott Miller at Fifth Dimension Collision Repair for custom stripes and logos (buried under the clearcoat), installation of the Collector’s Choice wing and dive planes, and installation of the leather center console insert by Venzano, before being delivered to ViperExchange, who will deliver the car to the lucky winner at NVE2 in New Orleans!

Just think, you could party at NVE2 with your Viper friends, and then drive home in this unique, one-of-a-kind Viper! But you must be present at the Grand Finale Banquet to win. So if you haven’t signed up for NVE2 yet, do so soon! There are less than 150 spaces left. Register at www.driveviper.com/nve2! Be sure to make your hotel reservations, too, as room block size is also shrinking.

All attendees have an equal chance of winning this Viper. Odds are better than 1/800, depending on actual attendance at the dinner. This is a doorprize, not a raffle, so no tickets will be sold. VOA national officers are excluded. Sponsors and FCA employees who are not attending as VOA members are also excluded.

Our thanks to Dodge, ViperExchange, Fifth Dimension Collision and Repair, Venzano, and Collector’s Choice for their participation in creating this special vehicle.

Yeah, that was a conscious decision. The original was misspelled to match Ralph's license plate, probably because the correct spelling wasn't available when he got his personalized plate. I went with the correct spelling this time, so people wouldn't tell me I spelled voodoo wrong, since there's no plate on the car...

If I don't win I'm considering it a hate crime against amputees. So the winner should just give it to me, lest it get tied up in lawsuits for years. Oh yeah. I play hardball!

I will say I think it drop dead gorgeous. Great use of the 1of 1 while not getting wacky. Just super clean. Love it.

It depends on your state here for us Yanks. Here in PA, if I trade in a vehicle on a new one, I only pay our 6% sales tax on the difference between the price of the new one minus my trade value. Some states charge tax on the cost of the new vehicle regardless of trade in. But in this case, I would pay 6% on the value of the prize - ouch!

And don't forget about the feds 25% withholding.

Small price to pay for such a beautiful viper. :dude3::dude3:

Just thinking about it, if one is not buying a ticket but is being given a door prize do you have to pay tax? Its a gift not a raffle?

Hell yes, you are paying tax. Not sure about outside of the U.S. It's a gift and is considered income in the eyes of the IRS. You'll receive a 1099 IRS form indicating the value of the door prize. It's taxed as income. It all depends on your specific tax situation and bracket. Which is why it's important to consult a tax consultant after winning and before taking receipt of the door prize. There may be some deductions you can take that helps, a little. But in the end, the Fed is going to get their share. Also, depending on which state you live in, you may be paying sales tax upon registering the door prize and possibly state income tax. Again, it depends on your specific tax situation. So I will reiterate one more time: Consult with a tax specialist as soon as you win the door prize. In fact, consult them now so you have an idea of what to expect.

But also remember, no matter what you may be paying in taxes....it's substantially less than buying the door prize. It's worth it. And I know some have asked if the club can also pay for the taxes too....that would be cool but....guess what? That would also be taxable. ;) There's just no way around the IRS.

If you drive a car, I'll tax the street
If you try to sit, I'll tax your seat
If you get too cold I'll tax the heat
If you take a walk, I'll tax your feet

Ha so true. CT is taking it one step further soon "If you drive your car, I'll tax the miles driven."

Who ever wins should immediately contact Tony to get his tax person's number. I doubt Tony paid income tax on the $140k sticker price of the NVE1 car so knowing how he was able to get his taxes down as low as possible will give the winner here a huge leg up.

Whatever happen to the build updates on the giveaway car? I haven't been able to find the pictures and such during production. Or is it being built last minute?

Yeah it is income. As far as the IRS goes, it's the same as a bag of cash being handed to you for the value. So you owe income tax. However, even if you have to pay 40percent in state and federal tax, that's the best deal you will ever get on a Viper. And this Viper, at that. It's incredibly sexy and will easily hold its value. The good news is, well there is lots of good news here but one key piece of it, is that banks find this a pretty safe loan so they don't mind giving it. Loaning 40 grand against a 100k car is about as low risk as it gets for a bank. And yes, if the club took care of the taxes for you, that's more income.

Since it is up to the individual person to pay their taxes on this, you technically have until tax day correct? So that gives you almost a year to come up with the cash doesn't it? I've never won anything like this so I have never had to deal with it but it's true that you want to make sure you either know the rules or let a pro do it. I do know that banks definitely give loans for this.

When you go to register it, do you owe sales tax though if you didn't purchase it? There is no sales receipt to pay sales taxes on. When I have registered cars I purchased I know I paid on the sales price, not on the NADA value or anything like that. In fact, when I registered my 02, I was able to lower the tax amount by telling them that delivery from out of state was 1000.00 and a wet sand was 800.00 and the woman at the DMV said I only had to pay taxes on the "purchase price of just the car" even though I had paid the entire amount to the dealer. So if you didn't purchase it? Then...? Could be an Arizona thing, or maybe you pay sales tax even if you didn't buy it and they go by NADA value. I guess I don't know.

Still...what a problem to have. I mean, you realize how many people would love to have this problem, right? I think we are all pretty lucky to just be in a situation where we may have to deal with this. And what a club that sets us up with such an awesome prize.

FWIW, if you don't want to deal with it at all, I suppose you could always just refuse to take a ticket at the door. Or take it and give it to me under the table. ; ) Actually I am pretty sure that's not allowed, but I suppose refusing the ticket is allowed. I'll say it again, what a problem to have. I can think of worse ones.
