Here's what you guys/gals have been waiting for.

2016 Carolinas VOA Tentative Event Schedule

Mar 5 Carolinas VOA Dyno Day in Raleigh, NC & Zone Luncheons
Alright, take those car covers off, pump up the tires, and meet us at Mayhem Motorsports in Raleigh, NC on Saturday, March 5, 2016, from 10:00am till 4:00pm. We will have exclusive access to their dyno for six hours of unlimited runs and a free lunch. If for any reason you cannot make it to Mayhem, you're invited to a FREE lunch with fellow members within your local VOA of the Carolinas' Zone. Patrick, our Western Zone Director, will host a FREE luncheon for Charlotte area members. Kristain, our South Carolina Zone Director in the Low Country, will host a FREE luncheon in the Charleston area. Angel, our South Carolina Upstate Zone, will host a FREE luncheon in the Spartanburg/Greenville area. Each is a TOTALLY free event for club members.

Mar 26 "Get Your Motor Running" V 3.0 and Dinner, Raleigh, NC
Brian will again be hosting a maintenance day at his home for minor mechanical/fluid changes on your Viper. This is a great time to gather and meet members of our club. Even if you don't need any of this work, come and hang out with us. We will have access to two lifts and the necessary equipment to change you oil, diff, tranny, and clutch fluids. After we're done and cleaned up, we will have dinner at a nearby restaurant. For those who are traveling a great distance, several members have guest rooms if anyone wishes to spend the night and drive home Sunday.

Mid Apr High Speed Driver's Education Course (HSDE), Kershaw, SC
Carolina Motorsports Park is located between Charlotte, NC and Columbia SC. The HSDE at this track offers an opportunity for club members to learn their own capabilities and that of their Vipers, all within a safe and controlled environment. Last November I attended an HSDE event at this track and was amazed what I learned. However, there will need to be a lot of planning and coordination for this particular event to take place. First, and foremost, we will need 20-25 members to sign up to keep the cost more manageable at an estimated $250-$350 per vehicle/driver, In the next couple of days I will follow up with another email explaining the requirements for us to make this event possible and to see how many would be interested in attending.

May 11-14 NVE-2 (New Orleans, LA)
National Viper Event #2. If possible, you need to attend this event - great city, great food, and great people attending. The national VOA has planned great venues for the members, from river cruises, different track events, and food events. Price includes three dinners, lunches, NOLA racetrack activities (track/autocross/karting & more), cruises, and free gifts. Dodge is planning to be there for three days and will help with sponsoring our event. Like NVE-1, someone WILL win a new Viper, and it might as well be someone from the Carolinas Region.

June 2-5 Tail of the Dragon
Yes, the dates have been changed from the traditional dates because of NVE-2. Our region is co-hosting the Tail of the Dragon (ToD) event again this year with the Alabama / Tennessee Region. For those who cannot make the NVE-2 event in New Orleans, this is a perfect more local event with its 318 curves in 11 miles of beautiful scenery and roads on the NC/TN border. Driving is not the only great thing about ToD Gatlinburg also offers various attractions, variety of foods, and awesome nightlife. This will be the biggest event for the two regions, so plan early to attend this long weekend event.

July (16th or 23d of July) Raleigh Cars & Coffee / Capital Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram (CCDJR) Viper Show and Free Lunch (Provided by CCDJR)
We'll attend the Raleigh Cars & Coffee in the morning, and then caravan over to CCDJR in Garner, NC where we've been graciously invited again for a Viper car show and a FREE picnic lunch. The CCDJR dealership is a VOA National Sponsor as well as a Carolinas VOA Regional Sponsor, but also has two of our members on their staff - Mike Reeves (New Car Sales Manager) and Al Humphries (Parts Manager). We are very fortunate to have CCDJR along with Mike and Al associated with our club.

Aug 12-14 Myrtle Beach/Wilmington Excursion
A "Tale of Two Cities." Yes, we are going to visit two cities, in two different states on the east coast, in the same weekend. We will arrive at Myrtle Beach on August 12, check into the hotel, and have a casual dinner that night. The next morning we will gather the Vipers and take a drive (60-70 minutes) to Wilmington, where a member (Dr. Bob) has graciously agreed to host a great BBQ lunch at his house. Then we're off to tour the battleship for a photo op or a scenic cruise before returning to Myrtle Beach. Saturday night we'll gather together one more time for a dinner and some drinks. Although most leave Sunday, others usually extend their weekend and stay an extra day at the beach (the hotel has been generous to extend the group rate in the past, but only if room is available).

Oct 8-9 Vipers Invade Charleston - Charleston, SC
Our Vipers will attend the Charleston Cars & Coffee on Saturday, 8am -10:30am. Afterwards, we will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, and then head over to Patriot's Point to tour the battleship, aircraft carrier, and/or submarine. Then we will take a scenic drive to Mepkin Plantation for dinner, and possibly do some go carting. Discount group hotel accommodations will also be announced for Friday and Saturday nights.

Nov 19 Carolinas VOA Holiday Party
We will once again have our holiday party in Greensboro, NC since it is centrally located for most of our members. More to come about this event.

There is not going to be "Mopars at the Beach" but instead we are having a "Tale of Two Cities" as there will not be a Mopar Show this year at Myrtle Beach. Had a lot of members, who liked the Myrtle Beach location (with or without the car show), so we decided to do this instead. Plus, with a member offering a free BBQ lunch in Wilmington, couldn't pass up on this Great Offer.

There will be a mopars at the beach this year. Coastal Carolina mopars has stepped in and took over to do it again this year. I was only made aware of it a couple days ago. You can search facebook for coastal Carolina mopars at the beach. It actually happens the same weekend as the voa event.

That would be great if we could do both events that week. I'm sure Mopars at the beach will have a good car show we could all attend.
