Considering a set of Forgeline wheels with the center lock conversion. I found one photo here of a White T/A. Looks great.
Anybody else have them on their car? Any issues? Would you buy them again?
Use my car mostly for street use. Track days are only 2 to 3 times a year.

We have a customer that has them, he ships his car here every year from Fl., they are super cool, but have a very long 3/4" drive extension bar to take them off and make sure you keep some sort of anti seize on the mating surfaces of the hub centric ring and the facing plate because the wheels will build up some corrosion and they are very hard to get off the hub.

That is my white TA. I've tracked several times on them, there are no strength concerns. But, if you remove/change wheels often, I would not recommend them. They are a pain the ass to remove, and it takes me about 2 hrs to switch between centerlock wheels back to normal 6-lug wheels when I change mine out.
If you are interested in a set, I can help you. They make a great visual statement. I'd only recommend them for those who don't swap wheels often.

Thanks Nine Ball. They do look great.
I'm not a serious track day guy. I don't change my tires when I go. I just have some fun in the Intermediate group without fear of losing my license. I have to work the next day.
I only take the wheels off a couple times a year mostly for service and cleaning. Once over the Winter for cleaning, lubrication and bleeding. And again midway through the summer for cleaning.

I have the six lug forgelines on mine. Center Lock's are nice, but really not worth it IMHO.

Any photos?

I have the GA3R-6 versions with Matte black centers and a translucent 'smoke' lip. It's a new thing they are doing.
18x11.5 all around with 315/30/18 Falken's.
It got to cold, but I'm mid way through a matte black wrap with gloss stripes (see the pattern?) :D

I have the 6-lug Forgelines on my other Viper. And the centerlocks on the TA. Both are quality wheels, but I'd be lying if I didn't say the centerlocks attract a LOT more attention at car shows and cruise-ins. Most people aren't used to seeing them, and can't understand how they function. The centerlocks get a lot of inquiries from a lot of people, who otherwise would have just thought to themselves "nice wheels".
I put centerlocks on both of these Ford GT's. Those two cars stand out above many others now, and get a LOT of instagram hits.

That's cool, to each their own. I'm not really going for the instagram crowd or need to have people say stuff at car shows. Frankly, i'm tired of car shows in general. If there's racing involved, i'm there. AutoX all day long, big track, timed events, Lemons... hells yes.
I think the idea behind the center lug thing was for the LeMans cars and ALMS, if I remember correctly from my conversations with David at Forgeline. Btw, super nice guy if you ever get a chance to talk with him about wheels. Dude knows his stuff.
Stand around in the heat and not drive? nah.

Preaching to the choir. You know I'm a racer. But, I also have wheels to sell, and I'd say 80% of my customers are buying based on aesthetics, not track performance. :)
Here are some cool centerlocks that are going on a red Gen 2 Viper GTS (silver stripes). Customer waiting on his performance shop to finish his car.

Oh for sure, no worries. I get it.
I figure for as often as I need to change tires/wheels having center locks don't help me go any faster than the idiot behind the wheel lets me :D

I dig the center conversion especially on the Viper.

Are all the center lock wheels multi spoke? Anyone have pics of a clean 5 spoke center lock wheel?

Just wanted to clarify something - when you say they are a pain in the ass to remove, do you mean the wheels or the adapters? I track often and rotate my front tires after every session and rears after every 2. I am trying to think if switching to centerlock would save time and effort since for each tire rotation I would be doing 4 things instead of 24.

Ek, the wheels come off very easy, the difficult part he is speaking to is swapping the hubs out if you've switching back to regular wheels.
Mark J mentions the long breaker bar needed (there is a picture of one later) as well as using the anti seize compound. What is not mentioned is the need of a 500 lb torque wrench, and, you also need someone to hold down the brake pedal while your loosening and torquing the wheels.
I bought a comp coupe that had BBS center-locks. Before I got it I looked up what tools I'd need, etc. (Lot's of good video's on Youtube w/Porsche's showing wheel changes and tools needed). I needed to replace the hubs and Dan Cragin told me it might just be easier to convert back to studs so that's what I did.
Also, if your thinking center locks for the track, you'll need to think about having spare wheel(s) in case something happens.
Want to change wheels at the track fast? Get a good cordless impact wrench and add air jacks. I can swap all 4 in say 5-10 minutes. Good luck! Mike
