So, she says that she and her family spent all their money on tickets ASSUMING they would win and now can't cover daily expenses. Wow. If people decide to start privately funding stupidity I think they are shoveling a walk in a snowstorm. But who is the really dumb ones here? Her, or the people giving her money? What blows my mind is she doesn't say anything like we got caught up and can't believe we did or that the learned their lesson or anything like that. Nope, she says with people's help, she can buy more tickets and "hit it big."
Wow. I just, wow.

unofficial poll, did anyone here buy a ticket/tickets? I don't think I had ever purchased a lottery ticket (have purchased scratchers for people's birthdays or bachelor party kind of situations. Like for $hits and giggles) but had never purchased a lottery tricket. Until the other day. I figured, why not? For a couple bucks I enjoyed the fun of checking the numbers and wondering if I was one in 292 million. I got my couple dollars worth of entertainment, but obviously I did not win.

Sounds Good! My wife brought a Powerball ticket and I can't believe we didn't win. Please send me money so I can buy a much needed ACR, lol!
What was that line used by Forrest Gump? "Stupid is as stupid does."

Gofundme is such a pet peeve of mine. Everyone is my generation just wants free shit handed to them, instead of actually paying for the decisions they make. Idiots

Please do not confuse the vocal and ignorant minority with the actual majority of us.
The squeaky wheel gets the news story. Nobody writes about me as I earn my pay - not an exciting story.

Yea some Gofund me accounts are abused and down right silly. Now that I think about it there was a Gofund me account posted on the Viper Owners FB page a few days ago.

If she spent 1 dollar on the next lottery her debt would be covered when she wins.

That's probably the smartest call.
In Arizona, you can not use a Credit Card to buy lottery tickets (scratch tickets or number lottery) which is ones of things where, even though I want the government to stay out of my decisions, ummmm I kinda agree with that rule. Cause I know the type of people who would get a credit card just for this powerball with some crazy ass interest rate and buy a ton of tickets. So I strangely agree with that government meddling.

I don't even like the name "GoFundMe". It sounds so entitled. It might as well be called "Gimme." Now, I am not at all opposed to charitable giving or helping people in need. And my family and I have done a lot for people in this world who needed a hand. We have even taken people in who needed a place to stay. So I get that not everyone who is broke or having trouble making ends meet is due to being lazy or incompetent. I also am not opposed to the idea of crowdfunding new ideas. I like that people can invest in an innovation or idea that they deem worth a shot in the arm. But the idea of saying "I spent all my money so give me more" is just rediculous. And who would give this person a red cent?

Exactly! "Man gets up and goes to work, even though tired" just doesn't make for the same eye catching headline. Nor does, "Family makes smart fiscal choice, decides to save money and eat in tonight... tune in for more at 11" Complete morons, dumpster fires of humanity, if you will, just make for better stories. Though I do believe they are the minority.

I'll contribute if she uses the money for a brain transplant. This is the future if we keep our heads in the sand.
