I don't think it was coincidence. I was driving around Sunday and the light was on. Got gas and noticed the light turned off. Any reason that this might happen?

Maybe the gas cap was left loose at some point and is now tightened; so the evap system is no longer detecting a leak and turned the light off.

That's what I was thinking. I'll make sure to keep an eye on it.
Thanks.

Did you also smell gas vapor when under a half tank?

Now that I think about it I did smell some fumes but only after I got on it. Normal driving I didn't notice anything.

Try reading the code if it comes back.

I accidentally drove 2 hours on the road and spent a whole track day without a gas cap, no engine lights at all.
