Drove to the track, bolted on some 19in drag radials and had at it:car-smiley-003: This was a hot lap pass, after a botched first attempt.
This is the fastest a bolt on only car has gone (that I've ever seen) of any Viper generation. Stock heads, stock cam. Car has Intake, exhaust, gears, tune. Costco pump 93 :)

Great runs, I'm sure with better drags like Mickey Thompsons or Hoosiers and you'd be faster!

Much appreciated guys, these cars have more in them if someone wanted to get serious. I literally drove the car to the track, bolted on a set of drags, made 3 passes, and drove home.
The lightweight forged 18s and drag radials I had initially acquired for these passes ended up not fitting so I had to scramble the night before and get a replacement set. The 19in chrome 10 spokes I got my hands on are literally the heaviest viper wheel available, so they didn't do me any favors on rotating mass. To add to that, the ACR suspension might as well be replaced with a piece of concrete, because at the current springs rates, it'd transfer weight just as well.

I wanted to make a pass with the car as-is, full weight, exactly how it would be on the street minus a set of drag radials, and that's exactly what I did. Everything about the car is set up for road course work, down to the alignment, so to be able to drive it off of the circuit and on to the drag strip and still remain competitive just speaks volumes to how capable these cars are.
Lose the cats, 2 piece rotors all around (losing 30+ lbs of rotating mass), a real lightweight drag pack wheel setup, good air, I guarantee these cars will go bottom 10s with seat time.

Your car will always trap well without the Aero also. I think that if we wanted to get super serious about going really fast in a straight line that we could get these cars to do some amazing things, but like you I love that they do everything well.

Surprised you haven't done the brake rotors yet. I think I shaved 37 lbs from my Gen 3 by doing that. The factory rotors are HEAVY. Like they belong on a Dodge Ram.
Why didn't those CCW's fit? Did you not have the e-brake cable relocation done yet?

Thoroughly enjoyed watching that unfold, good job bud. No need to re-invent the wheel with what I would like to do to mine. Clearly a solid setup.

I have the relocation brackets but they were still contacting the barrel. Also, both caliper bolts were making contact on the barrel. I started to grind both bolts but it was slow going without proper tools, and I just got fed up and abandoned it. Someone told me I may need to flip the e-brake relocation kit around? Either way, I wanted to watch the Texans game (wish I didn't), so I didn't feel like messing with it.

Very cool and awesome to see the great driving and great results!! I'm equally impressed that you were able to get those wheels and tires in your Viper to haul them to the track and switch 'em out!!! :smilielol:

Yeah I believe you have to grind the very edge if the top caliper bolt (I think I did mine with the dremel) and flip the relocation bracket. I'll get a picture when I put them back on

Quick question. Who decides if something is a "World Record".? Is there a committee somewhere?. I see your video says "world record for stock head & cam Vipers. I'm only curious because I believe my old Gen V holds the record of the "fastest stock H/C Viper in the world" .I mean I only managed a 132.24 trap my first time on a drag strip with a completely bone stock Viper, but Tony did 134.65 mph. Wait, maybe mine only has the world record for the fastest STOCK Viper in the 1/4 mile because it didn't have any bolt-ons....or drag radials. I bet that's it. But that's not my world record, Tony gets that one.
I do however, have 3 other "world record's". I have the fastest lap ever recorded for a Yellow with Black stripes Viper Aero Coupe at Texas World Speedway ...And, get this...I set 2 World records with my Gen IV ACR. Yep. The fastest lap ever recorded for an Orange with White stripes Gen IV ACR at TWS. Plus, just because I was in a world record setting mood, I pulled off the fastest lap ever recorded for an Orange with White stripes Gen IV ACR at MSR a couple of months later. Ok well, I'm gonna go post some youtube vid's with "World Record" in the title so I gotta go...have a good one.

Just a self proclaimed click bait title. Didn't claim to split the atom.
Did you forget to take your midol this morning? Or are you sitting on Andy's lap and he's typing?

Stock everything except what is mentioned in my sig, on 19" factory chrome ten spokes and a nitto drag radial. Stock wheels up front.

Sweet run man. Congrats on the title. I was debating throwing a rack on my roof so I could bring the drag radials without a chase car.
