We tried to set these up for a 315 max tire. Most will probably go 295 on them, for the street.

Thanks. I have the stock 295s on there now. I would like to go a little wider for more grip! Yea. So 315 with that width and offset won't have any fender rubbing issues? And it's sad to say I don't even know what the stock rim offset is. lol.

Yes they do.
That wheel size will also put you into the new Kumho ACR size. Changing the front tire size with the Hoosier might give the traction control fits though. And it's a guess, the Kumho front might be close enough not to notice?
This is a helluva deal on wheels for this car.

I run those exact size tires (Michelin Super Sport) on my 2013 and 2014, zero issues. That taller front tire actually looks better, in my opinion.

NineBall, you are killin me with these but in a good way. If I wasn't going in for another surgery in 10 days I would love to jump on a set of these. Wheel budget takes a hit though as you might expect when prepping for getting cut.
Though I unfortunately can't purchase them right now, I still want to thank you for passing on such an awesome deal to the Viper community who usually gets bent over a barrel for wheels. Congrats to anyone who is snagging some sweet new wheels. Enjoy!
does forgestar exclusively use the f14 for the 6 lug pattern? is it possible to order any other rim(cf5 for examples) in a 6 lug pattern?

Only the F14. This required all new tooling, just to build the 6-lug cores. Tooling for each wheel is expensive, and we have to sell hundreds of wheels just to break even. These Viper F14 wheels would not even exist, had it not been for my pushing them, and convincing them we could sell them. Please remember that, if you go out looking for the lowest bidder. Support those who support the community. :)

Perhaps this is a bit of a hijack but tire size has been discussed above...so...Looking at tires sizes and photos online...it looks like the khumo acr v720 is stretched a bit on the stock 11" wide acr rim. I'm having difficulty finding much info on those acr v720 tires, but will they fit appropriately on the 19x10's? I anticipate a square fitment, wouldn't want the tire to bulge though.
Thoughts?

295 wide tires can work on a 10.0-11.0 wheel, typically. I actually prefer them on the 11.0 wheel, however.

Only the F14. We have to get these custom built for the Viper 6-lug, they are not like the normal Forgestar cores that are drilled for different 5-lug patterns. Another benefit is that these aren't generic, and are actually hub-centric instead of using the normal spacer rings to achieve this.

I would have pounced on your deal you had if I hadn't just required yet another knee surgery. Wheels and tires easily spent between the surgery and therapy copays. And that's with great insurance. Ugh. Just gonna have to be a bit patient.

NO 20s"?
The 20s were not a good seller for the Viper. Vast majority want 18/19 or 19/19. We have to minimize the part numbers, to keep inventory costs down.

18x10 fronts will still be produced, just none ordered at the moment. You can run the 295 wide Gen 5 front tire on your 2002, which is why we went to 18x11 sizing now.
In other news, I put in a order to get 19x11.0 +43 front wheels designed and built. Same size and offset as the Gen 5 ACR. These will be arriving in early May.

Right on! Count me in for a set of 19x11, 19x13 because of course I'm a wheel whore. This time I'll pair them with the khumo tires and sensors etc from you.
That is an exciting development Tony! With the interest and sales you have completed, have you got forgestars attention enough to look at other designs or are they just going to stick with the f14's. They have a nice mild concave 5 spoke as well that I'm sure would be a good seller..

The 6-lug pattern won't line up with that spoke layout. I've been trying to get them to build the CF10 wheels, but that would take a large investment. I don't sell that many Viper sets. Hah!

Obviously that video is not a great endorsement for Forgestar wheels but the best takeaway from that is to inspect your wheels before track days and periodically.

Gentlemen, I asked the customer that posted the video link to start a new thread to discuss wheel failures from tracking. I realize that the latest video is a Forgestar wheel, but the failure is not a brand-specific issue. We've seen even the highest quality wheels fail on track before. Wheels, when tracked, are considered a wear item. They should be thoroughly inspected, just like tires, brakes, and suspension parts. We also do not know the life history, or if any abuse had occurred on the failed wheel. I have 100s of customers out there tracking on these wheels, and have never experienced a failure with the brand. Many of them are in much heavier cars, Camaros, GTR's, CTS-V's, etc..
I'd also like to point out that when I shared that video with the owner of Forgestar, he sought out the driver in the Honda and contacted him. He offered a full refund, and covered some of the damages to his car, in exchange that he could receive the wheels back for a thorough engineering inspection. They stand behind their product. Forgestar will also devote some time to develop a wheel inspection article that dealers can share, which remind us that wheels should always be checked on track days, regardless of brand. Many people think wheels last forever, but that only applies to driving on the road, with street tires. Tracking is a whole other level of stresses and fatigue.
Thanks,
Tony

Good answer. Makes sense. I was wondering what exactly it was that this driver did. Was it purely wear and tear of tracking or did he spend a lot of time off the track in the dirt, etc. ? That's pretty high class of forgestar to cover the damage to the car. Class move.

We discontinued the 18x10.0 size, because we went with 18x11.0 instead. You can fit a 285 or 295 tire on the 18x11.0. We had to minimize part numbers, the Viper market isn't very big.

Sent a PM Tony with some questions. But I guess I can ask here again.
Thinking of a set of 18x11 and 19x13. Planning on 295's up front and 355's in back.
I think I may have the answers based on the pictures of the Blue GTS (Syb's car posted by Geronimo) but I just wanted to confirm before I pulle the trigger.
My setup:
2002 GTS, Eibach Sport Springs (lowered) on stock shocks. I have also upgrades the brakes with the IPSCO Gen 3/4 upgrade. Essentially I have Brembo 4 piston all around. I have the stock 18" wheels on there but have 8mm spacers to clear the calipers.
I assume the backspacing on the F14's is good enough to clear the brake calipers. I figure that b/c if it clears on the Gen 3 and later it'll clear on the Gen 2.
Second question, I see you have a few choices on the powder coating. However, what is the "normal" finish? Are they polished aluminum? Do they all need to be powder coated?
Last question I had was on the tires... But I am 90% certain I'll go Pirelli with the 295 fronts and 355 rears. I guess the only question is do I go 13" width? I am thinking yes.
Thanks...

I was thinking about the polished but the wheels are not finish polished. The color options are all powder coat. So what I went with is the gloss gunmetal and I am going to have a spare gas cap I purchased powder coated to match. As soon as I have it all done. I will put in some shots for you guys to check it out. I don't know if I am the first Gen 2 FE to go this route, but I'll put the shots up.

Nineball,
I have a gen 3 copperhead that I just got about a month ago. The previous owner upgraded the wheels to 19's up front and 20's in the back. I just put new tires on and was curious if you think the 19x10 fronts, and 20x13 rears combo would be a good fit for 275/35/19 and 335/30/20 tires. I'm interested in the Bronze Burst wheels. I live in San Antonio so if I do pull the trigger I could probably arrange to drive to Houston to pick up to avoid some shipping charges.
Thank you in advance. David

Not available in Super Deep, due to the 6-lug requirements. I doubt they would fit anyways, since we have huge brake calipers and the super deep cores get really close to the calipers towards the centers.

Only driving I have done was a quick 1 hour drive. Did some highway driving. I felt the drive to be great. Nothing adverse at all. I was expecting to get some more "tracking" with the larger tires but the drive felt pretty much the same. As for the twisties... I live in Miami. Not a lot here I can give you a feeling about. It's all flat and straight for the most part. But overall, I like the feel very much so far.
The wheels are significantly lighter. When moving them around vs. the stock, the difference is very noticeable. Obviously the dropping of the un-sprung weight is a good thing, but I won't be able to really give you a feel about that until I hit some curves.

They have a bright blue, but it is more like a normal blue. Comp Blue is lighter in shade. For that color car, I'd go with gold, white, or bronze burst. Could also do bright orange, that would look cool and tie in with the TA theme.

Crazy that the rear wheels weigh less than a 25 pound plate at the gym. Tony, do the 18x11's fit over the 2016 acr ccb? I read somwhere that you were going to test fit one, given an opportunity.

I never got an opportunity to do the test fit. Anyone want to drive an ACR-E over to my place some weekend? :)
Waiting for someone to get that test fitted on an ACR-E. Hopefully Gerry Wood didn't buy all of them lol.
Would love to throw on a pair of 18's in the front. BTW, are there any wider options for the front like 18x12? I want to run wider fronts like 335. What's the size limitations for the gen5s?

We only have the 18x11 or 19x11 fronts. We can't do custom sizes, since the Viper cores are pre-made and we require 25 sets ordered at the same time.

Probably missed the boat on this one, but I'm always a bit slow...here's what I'm looking for:
18x10F (18x11F would also work), 18x13R
The primary goal is to get an 18x13 rear with a decent drag radial on it for the strip, the fronts would just make sure they match F/R.

I've not sold a set of solid white wheels in years, but those went on a Camaro. I had white CCW's on my Gen 3 Viper, they looked cool but were a major PITA to keep the inside barrels looking clean. Would have been livable if the insides were done in black or something.

It all depends on what you want. I can sell you one wheel, or two wheels if that is what you are asking. At this time, I only have 19x11 / 20x13 cores in stock. The rest of the sizes will be on backorder until late Feb 2018.

18/19 would let you retain the OEM tire sizes, 19/19 looks really nice, and I'd think 19/20 would also look great. 18/18 gives you some options for slicks and drag radials if you are into tracking of some sort. Keep in mind that going to 18s in the back will require a parking brake cable relocation kit, but that's a pretty painless mod.

Thanks...I'm sure we can figure something out. At the very least, it is nice to see at least one other Viper around these parts...outside of one red Gen 5, I haven't seen another Viper in quite some time around here.
My car will be going under the knife in the spring...those 18s with MT Drag Radials didn't get along with my clutch when I was out at Kil-Kare last August. Hopefully I can get that swapped out and back on the road before the weather gets back to being nice.

The do look a little small, but I bought them solely to open up options for drag radials. For a street car, I'd stick with 19s in the back just for looks, and I'm sure 20s with 19s in the front would look killer.
All in all, the Forgestar F14s are an incredible value, and they look really nice IMO. I wish they still offered some sort of brushed finish, but their powder coating options are pretty nice. I don't think I'll get around to it this year, but at some point, I'll likely pick up a set of matching 19 inch rears and mount a set of R888s for the street, and put R888s on my current 18x11 fronts (those are 285 Michelin Pilot Super Sports on the front in that pic).

You may request their testing certs by contacting them. They used to be published on these links, but now that Weld/Momo bought them they must be requested.

They are produced by an OEM wheel manufacturer, and have all the required DOT approvals.

Got my wheels and they look great. My question now is how to prevent galling from the lug nuts. Is there a preferred nut that fits these best, something with a swivel seat or a brush-on coating to apply?
Get some smaller diameter "Tuner" style splined lug nuts. They come with a small diameter installation tool.

Tony,
Any chance that forgestar would do a drag pick size for the f14 fronts?

If you could find 25 customers willing to pre-pay, they can be made. But, it would take 6-7 months to do so. Not a strong market for those, and the tooling for each part number is expensive.

Fair enough, would of thought the tooling may have been similar and just narrowing of the barrel for the fronts.

The original casting for the spoke section requires it to be cast with a specific amount of excess material around the border. That material then gets heated and extruded over the mandrel to "flow-form" the barrel width. Wider width, more excess material, etc..

No bead knurling on these. Only HRE and Forgeline offer that, from my brands carried.
We've seen people put 315's on them.

Tony, what are some light weight options for the gen V, sticking with 18" front/19" rear setup?
I know the forgeline GTD1 are light weight, what are other light weight options? Also, can they accommodate larger brakes?
Thanks for your help!!!

I recently went through a color change on my Forgestar F14s, and during that process I noticed that the o-rings that keep the center caps in place were starting to crack quite a bit. To be clear, none of them had failed, but I wanted to try and replace them since I had them off anyway. How hard could that possibly be?
Harder than I thought unfortunately. I had to do some homework and experimenting, but I managed to solve the problem. Hopefully this will help someone out that's looking to do the same thing, because I came up with nothing.
First, some measurements:
The Forgestar center caps on my wheels are approximately 2.48" in diameter. The hole in the wheel that accepts the center cap is ~2.5" in diameter. With the o-ring in place, the overall diameter of the cap + o-ring is approximately 2.52". This makes for a nice, tight fit. In my case, with the powder coating, they were a bit too tight. This is not uncommon...if you do a bit of poking around, you'll find YouTube videos of how guys have had to install them on their Forgestars, which involves a lot of wetting and hammering.
The Forgestar-provided o-ring thickness is 2.91mm, or about 0.1145". This is where things went south. That is a very odd ball thickness. I literally was only able to find one o-ring online that had that same thickness, and it was a 0.254" outer diameter o-ring. That ain't gonna work. Somebody must be sitting on a bunch of this shit somewhere, because I couldn't even find o-ring cord stock that size.
My go-to for stuff like this is McMaster-Carr. They have tons of different options for o-rings made of all different types of materials with all different kinds of durometers (rubber hardness). I settled on Oil-Resistant Soft Buna-N O-Rings. They are nice and stretchy, and should hold up just fine in this application.
If you are looking for a pre-made o-ring solution, the best fit I came up with after a couple of tries was part number 2418T156. These are a 3/32" (0.103") thickness, 2.050" ID, 2.256" OD, Durometer 50A (soft) o-ring. A pack of 15 was about $8 + shipping. Installed, these give you a cap + o-ring diameter of 2.5095".
I also tried a 1/8" (0.125") thick o-ring, but it wouldn't fit in the center cap groove. The center cap groove width is about 2.5mm (0.0980"). 3/32" fits the groove perfectly when slightly stretched.
The nice thing about the 3/32" thick o-ring is that the center cap fits much easier in the wheel, especially if it has thicker powder coating. That said, one of my wheels was a little thinner in that area, and the fit was too sloppy. If you find that, I have another solution if you can't reuse the original o-rings.
What is that? It's custom make your own o-rings. McMaster-Carr also sells o-ring cord stock. All you need to make your own o-ring is cord stock and CA glue (super glue). Just cut the cord stock to length, and glue the ends together to form an o-ring. It works surprisingly well, as long as you aren't trying to glue together silicone cord stock (I wasn't). To make something that is of similar thickness to the original o-rings, you'll need 3mm o-ring cord stock (McMaster-Carr part number 1209N6). Cut it at 15cm, and glue it together. It'll make a smaller o-ring, but when you stretch it into place, it'll fit in the groove snugly, and will give you close to the original 2.52" center cap + o-ring OD.
Sorry I don't have any pics, but hopefully that helps someone.

What good is a post about o-rings if you can't follow it up with some pics?
When I bought the F14s many years ago, they were intended to be my track wheels for the drag strip. Because of that, I went with the following sizes and tires:
Front: 18x11, 285/35-18 Michelin Pilot Super Sports (really old tires from 2012, but perfect for straight line racing)
Rear: 18x13, 345/35-18 Mickey Thompson ET Street S/S Drag Radial (28" tire)
For the finish, I originally went with gloss gunmetal. It looked okay with my car, but just seemed to be a bit out of place with my particular color combo (the white stripes really seemed to throw things off). I really like the looks of these wheels, and decided to run them full time on my car. I still wanted 18" rears for the drag strip, but I wanted 19" rears for the street. Thankfully, Tony had a couple in stock that he shipped to me earlier this year. I recently had all 6 of them powder coated GM Silver (gloss) to brighten them up a bit. I think it turned out well. I also decided to put some more serious rubber on them this go around:
https://i.ibb.co/r5GVgxF/R888R.jpg
So now I run the following:
Front: 18x11, 295/30-18 Toyo R888R
Rear: 19x13, 345/30-19 Toyo R888R
Drag Strip Rear (not pictured): 18x13, 335/30-18 Hoosier DR2 (26" tire)
Tires all provided by Jon B via my friendly neighborhood UPS guy.
I ended up having to lower the car about 1/2" up front to take up the gap left by the much smaller diameter front tire than what I was running, but that's why I have the MCS shocks. The 285 looked very stretched on an 11" wide wheel, but the 295 Toyos fit perfectly. The smaller diameter fronts should also look good with the smaller diameter Hoosier drag radials I'm running this year.

After:
https://i.ibb.co/Sn6Z1Kf/GM-Silver-Powder-Coat-2.jpg
The R888Rs are about as noisy as I expected, and the tramlining definitely keeps you on your toes. That said, these are the first street tires that have ever allowed me to hook up on the street outside of my drag radials, which weren't very streetable due to the soft sidewalls. For now, and I can deal with the extra noise and tramlining for the excellent traction these provide.
And because, you know, race car. I'm going to get this damn thing into the 10s in the 1/4 mile if it's the last thing I do.

Steve M, Great idea on the powder coated GM Silver (gloss) to brighten them up a bit. Looks great with the white stripes! I've had the same toyo's now for about a year & could not be happier. These tires hook-up! I did go with 315's up front as my escape is usually to the mountain roads.

The older 19x12 cores are obsolete as of about two years ago. They have none remaining. You'll need to get the damaged wheel repaired, or buy a pair of 19x13 wheels to replace them. Email me if needed, tony@dv8motoring.com

If you are looking for skinnies, you'll have to go with a different brand, at least for Viper fitments.
I've been running the 18x11 fronts for years for drag racing (and now on the street), and they work well. Obviously leaving a bit on the table compared to skinnies, but I also drive to and from the strip, which is about 20 miles each way.
