So, as one of my first acts as social director, aside from planning events which has already begun, I would like to put together a gift for NVE. I just need to get a count. Please let me know if you are going and if you are bringing a guest.

I don't want to say what it is yet. It's not clothing so I don't need sizes or anything like that. But it is something you will find useful on the trip.

Just answer here if you are going and if you are bringing a guest.

Thanks.

The big viper gathering in New Orleans. 1000 people. Probably 400 vipers, give or take. There are dinners, track days, etc. a bunch of us are driving out there. The old club used to have something similar they called VOI. There is a thread about NVE on the main forum page. Check it out. We have a pretty good group going. This one is in New Orleans. In 2 years, who knows? But they will announce it at this years NVE.

Ah I think this is the event Eddie was telling me about. There is a track event as well?

Yes, there will be track time at NOLA as part of the event....

and this may not be the best medium to conduct a head count. I think less than half the club actually uses the forums....old farts and computers and all.

But count me!

Good point. I'll be in touch with the officers and such, but it's just so I can start planning because I was going to have a gift made for those going to NVE. There is plenty of time still.

Also, those who are driving to NVE without a passenger, I bet you could get a tank of gas bought for you in exchange for trunk space/passenger seat space for those who may be short on room. So bear that in mind. Like for instance, we KNOW Leadfoot won't have a woman with him, so someone may want to out a bag there and could buy you a tank of gas as a thank you. I would do that. Unfortunately I won't have room as I will have a beautiful woman with me. Leadfoot is lucky to have all that space : )

Yes. Track event. Also when not tracking there is karting for fun. And then lots of other events. I've not been on one yet so someone else can tell you more as to what they are like, though no two are the same. Leadfoot was on the first one in Detroit. He can tell you about it. But read the threads dedicated to it, and I think there may be a link on the forum home page. We hope to have you along.

There is an official shipping company for the event that is giving rates, though most of us are driving. But...you are in a particularly unique situation with a GTS and an ACR-E. The GTS will be more comfortable for the drive but if you want to take the ACR-E on the track, I guess you have a choice to make. Parking there is 100 dollars for a garage next to the hotel and we have our own floors that are guarded by off duty police. Also, there is space to leave your trailer at the track if you trailer your own vehicles out there.

Vprbite, there are 5 club members (10 total) registered to see the Rauh Viper collection on the way to NVE2. That does not include you, Eddie, Andy, little Leadfoot or anyone else that might be registered that I'm not aware of. Deb will eventually have a complete list. Your elders do read this forum but their yappy just isn't as flappy as some of you youngsters. :-)

Look, see, i say old fart and Barry shows up....what a coincidence!

And no, i will have an open front seat. I'm not paying nearly a grand for some skank to warm my bed for a 10 days.

Debbie is handling the planning for the route out there, Gaboon.

Hotel wise, we booked the day before the first event (which is when we are arriving) and depart Sunday I think. I can't remember if we arrive on Tuesday or Wed. Email Debbie about that. She is going to send out info with our route and hotels along the way. Also, this was a good reminder for me, you have to sign up for the diner at the Rauh's place in Texas. I don't think it costs anything. They just need to know how many people.

Debbie has indeed posted the route (with hotels) down to New Orleans, you should have received an email, if not, contact her. We leave Sunday morning, May 8th, arrive in Henderson, TX on Tuesday, May 10th for the Rauh party. We will leave the next morning for the final leg to New Orleans in a massive convoy. As far as I know, the final dinner at NVE is Saturday night, can't remember if track time is available on Sunday (it's all on the VOA site). Nothing planned as yet for the return cruise - Debbie needs to find out everyone's plans, but most of us, I think, are planning to head back Sunday morning.

The NVE itinerary is available but I don't think we know our group yet. So the itinerary is generic. One group has track day Thursday, one has trackday Friday but does tours on Thursday, etc. We will find out when we register.

Contact Debbie if you are coming along and haven't received the itinerary for the drive!!! The hotels are filling up. Not the end of the world, but IMO it's part of the fun.

Also, as far as Wednesday goes, there will be the massive convoy leaving at 8AM. Though some people are choosing to leave earlier in an attempt to beat the rush so that we can get there with some time to chill before the dinner busses leave. An email recently went out to share that information so that you can make the choice that fits you best.

Most people are leaving Sunday. I think one or two people are staying another day to enjoy the city. I think most people are heading back Sunday morning and taking the direct route, and driving as much per day as they feel like or possibly a game time decision with other people. No set itinerary though. Some people have to barrel back. Others are taking side trips.

Also we have the pre NVE dinner this Saturday. That will be a chance to ask any questions.
