I am going to attend a hpde track day through nasa. I was wondering if i need to do anything other than the obvious to prep the car. Its a fully stock 01 rt10. Also i was wanting to tow it if i could find a trailer. Anyone know where i can buy a good one or what to look for in a used one. Atleast for now is there one i can rent that the car will fit on?

FRESH FLUIDS!! Brake, clutch, oil, trans, diff. All of them.
Stainless brakes lines would also be nice.
Inspect how much brake pad is left.
How old are your tires?
Don't use your parking brake after a session

If the alignment has not been done in a while you might want to have that checked and possibly tweaked a little to save tires and help performance.

What track are you attending with NASA and the Date. Are you looking for Track side Support that can
haul your viper also ? Extensive Gen 1 RT/10 Racing Knowledge, Back in the day 97 - 2002 had the
Number 1 car in Nasa (viper / vette challange), Viper Days (Gen 1 Champion), SCCA (ITE).

Definitely this, also a real good tire pressure gauge and portable air tank.

Got fresh proxies on the car. All fliuds are changed. When i do my not so legal road racing here on the mountain back roads the brakes tend to be inconsistent so i will probably put the steel lines on.

Doing roebling raceway on January 13-14. Track side support?

Roebling a a good little track to do your first event on. Only 1 wall. Just be careful as it will be cold and take awhile to get temps/pressures into your tires in the middle of Jan., could even snow on you. I usually rent out Roebling multiple times a year for some events but they just went through another management change. Not sure if i'll be going there this year.

Follow the link in post 4 in the following thread. It shows which U-haul car trailer is the one to use, and what to do to make it fit a Viper.

Roll bars to clear your helmet.
Check and see if NASA requires them.
Most fun you can have with your clothes on!

Do you know how old your tires are? I wouldn't hit the track with tires older than 2-3 years...

So I need a roll bar? I thought I need to just keep the roof on?

It depends upon the organization running the event, and sometimes the track's rules. Here is what NASA says: https://www.nasaproracing.com/hpde/rollover.html
I know that the Porsche Club has similar rules; but some regions may interpret or implement them slightly differently.
