Hi All.
Opened the hood to set the TPS, do a good check on things and !!!!!!!!!! Power steering pump cap is gone. The mess isn't though. Not terrible. Did not get on or stain the headers at least. Had to have just happened. Still half full and did not make noise Sunday driving.
Question: What is the correct cap - part number for replacement. Half of the service manual drawing pics show the cap with a nipple on top and some do not. No part numbers listed. Want to order the correct one. Thank you in advance for any help!

Caps falling off is a problem.

You are lucky your car didn't burn to the ground.

You really only need to tighten the PS cap as tight as you can in order for it not to loosen on its own.

I used to use a channel locks to tighten my cap down, but I figured a vent tube is cheap insurance.

I didn't take any pictures yet, but over the weekend I created my own PS vent tube system. Not to keep the cap from coming off, but to vent the PS liquid while tracking. I was getting a lot of PS liquid spray even after taking fluid out of the reservoir.
So I bought some 5/16 fuel line hose (probably not more than a foot) and some random, clear fuel filter to fit the line. I cut the fuel line in half and clamped one end to the PS vent. I connected the other end to the fuel filter inlet then the second half of the fuel line to the fuel filter outlet. Zip tied all connections and then zip tied all of that to the electrical harness running next to the driver headlight down towards the front of the nose. Looks pretty good in my opinion. If the filter was black it would look almost OEM, but then you couldn't see if liquid when making its way through the lines.
If liquid spills out, it shouldn't really make its way past the filter. I'll just keep an eye on it after each session and replace as needed.
I also use channel locks to keep the cap tight.

Pull a cut 2-inch or so section of a bicycle inner tube over the cap and reservoir neck to keep the cap from loosening. Not glamorous but certainly works very well.
