If you do not have wheels yet, why not go with a MT 18"?

If not MT or M&H then go with R888.

I have R888 345's. They are awesome. Sticky without losing handling that is associated with true DR's.

I run R888's on the street and an 18" Hoosier at the drag strip.

does anyone find the R888 to be excessively noisy? Also can they be just used on the rear for street use or is it best to use on all corners?

R888's are fantastic all around. (a bit noisy) While they are super on the road course track and street, they are still not a drag radial.

Anyone have suggestions on some good 18" drag wheels that won't break the bank? Probably need 18x12 or 18x13 as I'm looking at the 345 MT's.

I have a set of two G2's that you can have for $400. If you want to look good, call 9Ball for a price on his Forgelines.
Not all 18's fit, the two options above do, we did all the trial and error.

19" NT05R's work great on factory wheels!

Vegasgtr, Do you get any additional tire noise with just the rear tires?

R888 are not nearly as good as actual drag radials like the NT05R. The drag radials have softer sidewalls, which wrinkle on the launch, to help maintain grip. The 19s are good until you hit around 800 rwhp.

Does anyone know if any of the drag radial variants come in 21" sizes for the rears?

Here is the G2 wheel mounted on a G5. The MT's fill the wheel well better. The Hoosier that is mounted is shorter and helps the terrible first gear in the G5. To mount these on a G5 you need 1" wheel spacers. If anyone wants these (wheels only) , they can have them for $400 (plus freight) with the spacers. I need some room and they are just sitting. They are not cosmetically perfect, but, they balance very nicely.

I have used the Nt05R before on a challenger 315/35/20, they are good on the streets and on the drag days also. Not so easy when the streets are wet, but with little caution you can make it safely, no issue. My question is if I may, will the NT05R work good on track days if the fronts are PZero's?

The MT and Hoosier DR's would be terrible for autox or track, they are ok on the street and best at a dragstrip. To go to the other side, the tires that are good on a track like the A7/R7 are terrible on a dragstrip.

Thanks Jack for clearing that up. I guess I need two sets now, each to its purpose.

R888 will be my new tire. Nittos are not for track or rain and R888 noise will go after few months.
