What was the stock stereo in a 2002

I just got this 2002 Viper and it has an Alpine stereo in it. My son seems to think its the original but I thought they used the Chrysler style radios. Anybody have a picture of a stocker?

No, factory was indeed Alpine. Also Alpine amp in the trunk. Just speakers were Chrysler crap I believe.

I saw the amp in the trunk but didn't look to see if it was Alpine, I'm sure it is. Thanks for the info

Found a pic of the stock alpine unit. It's the lower one of course. As for the amp: it is not badged as Alpine as opposed to the head unit.

It always amazed me how dodge can put such a crappy stereo in such an awesome car! Just to confirm, the alpine in the pic is the correct one.

Right now its working fine so other than replacing the speakers I probably wont mess with it. I like hearing the engine anyway.

Well, just wait until you discover the odd dimensions of the stock woofers...;)

If its like any other Mopar I have owned(and I've had hundreds) then nothing "off the shelf" will come anywhere near fitting.

Stock Alpine and amp are good. Speakers are garbage.

6.5" speakers nearly all fit ... but not the covers. Tweeters are junk. Rear speakers can be replaced with 6 x 9 triaxles or just buy replacement kits
