Title sort of says it all, but where are you guys putting the seem on your installs?

If you head to the Xpel site (See link) you can see how the patterns are cut for the car. Although I have a GT, my car is
probably 90% wrapped. (Areas not are rear 2/3rds of roof, and trunk lid). The hood is a 3-piece with a smaller section
down the middle area. Here is where using a good installer will show.

Impossible to do the hood in one full sheet, it is too big. If you have stripes, you can hide the seam on the stripe edges. I just had the front 3' of the nose wrapped, in typical fashion. The seams stop at the front of the first hood vents.

the seams are barely visible on mine

gotcha. I have the white/black/red extreme coming and was curious if seems would line up with the ACR stripe pattern.

Yes you could have them cut it to match your stripes.

Having the stripes will also help with full coverage of the roof.

I have gone back and forth on this issue. I think the best solution for me is Track Wrap for long hwy trips, and then remove it when I reach my destination. I live in a small town and commute 5 blocks to work barely above 60 km/hr (40mph) at any point so it's a non-issue with respect to daily use.

Cars main purpose is for the track, and they take a beating there, thus a requirement in my mind.

Fair enough. As I indicated, Track Wrap.................

Has anyone been successful in lining up the clear wrap seam on GTS stripes, with a 6-vent hood?

I asked my installer to lay GTS stripes over the top of the clear wrap seams, but he's skeptical that he can get the seams under the stripes.

You can see in the two pictures that the pre-cut kit's seams are well outside of the GTS stripes (masking tape representing stripes). I may just have to live with visible clear wrap seams and go with the pre-cut kit, because it would be very hard to do a custom wrap due to the curvaceous hood surrounding the hood vents.

Well I'll chime in on the subject, I've used Track Wrap and it's ugly as hell. It reminds me of clear plastic covers on couches. No way am I driving my baby around with that stuff on it. It's fine for the track temporarily, but part of the enjoyment of driving a Viper on road trips is sharing it's beauty. I'm a fan of getting a quality clear wrap done.

My entire hood was done...but with a GTS hood.

The curve of the Viper Hood continues so far up the car (the debris strike area) that it is really hard to stop with a partial hood--especially on a car that will see the track.

Btw, what did you think of Trac Wrap for the track? I have been using Massive amounts of Blue Tape on the few times I have been to the track with my GTS. Trac Wrap looks faster, but with some complications.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Track Wrap is much better than blue tape for the track because you can buy it in wide widths and put it on rapidly, and it looks better than the blue stuff of course. But I've had good experience with clear wrap and prefer it. Adding Track Wrap is too much of a hassle for me, personally. I did it a few times and decided not to worry about it. Once in a while, I've had to replace a clear wrap panel because of a tear due to a big rock or being weed-whipped when I went off at Thunderhill. Paint underneath was pristine, so it did it's job.

Todd, are you going to stripe the roof?

Yes, I'm striping the roof, the lower nose, the rear to GTS dimensions. I just love that look, and it doesn't hurt that the Kuno took the championship on that gorgeous red car with GTS-like stripes. I hope it looks good on the Stryker Orange, I will know soon :dancingman:

I agree with you, that combination will look killer!
