For those that don't have facebook,

If your in a bind, I found an alternate part number for the Gen 2 cam position sensor. "Walker 235-1115" goes to a 1996-2003 Dodge Ram 2500/3500 with the V10. I ordered one off of Ebay for $40 bucks and it arrived in a couple days. It is identical to the stock sensor other than the plug that the connector goes into is clocked parallel with the mounting bracket vs the stock plug is at a 45 degree angle. i called Walker to see if they had the sensor in stock for the Viper (part # 235-1113), but they are out of stock as well. Figured I'd let you all know about this while they are plentiful. Thank you Jeff for your help with this!

Its a nice thought... but at last check, these are out of stock and discontinued as well. Might be a few left in random places, but thats about all.

Searching through a few threads, they appeared to be out around the beginning of the year. Who knows, maybe Walker made a new batch due to the demand.

I count 44 available on Ebay if the sellers availability is correct. If not, glad I swooped one up!

Does the car run ok with this cam sensor? Do you really want to tryst it in your TT? Also, Amazon shows over 30 cam sensors.

I did not try it on my car. I would have to remove some things to get to it and I do not want to do that just yet, lol. As of this morning, its on my buddies car N/A car and we will see if everything is still good by the end of the week. I'm sure it'll be fine.

Has anyone found a solution for a Gen 1 sensor? I am in need of one. Thanks!

I think, but haven't been able to confirm, that the only difference between the I and II/III is the plug. The Gen I plug is on wires, the II/III plug is built into the sensor. If that's the case, you can buy the pigtail for the later sensor and splice it in.

When I started my cam sensor project, I tried like heck to get one of these Ram sensors. Everybody everywhere had them listed, but unavailable. Vipers aside, there are thousands of V10 Rams out there that were at risk of being unusable because no sensors were available. Since Twinscrewd was able to find them, I'm hoping someone has started making them again.

In addition to running bad or not at all, it'll also throw trouble code P0340.

Does this alternate sensor have to be modded, or is it a bolt in, plug in and go?

no mod necessary.

Let's keep it civil ppl, I'd hate to have a noob meltdown because someone hurt my feeling on the internet :(

I guess I missed your technical contribution to this thread. Whining doesn't count.

Technical Cliff Notes: There is an alternative part number to the OE cam sensor. Others confirm that they are indeed available and, in fact they have recieved said item.

I fail to see that there was much meaningful left to be said that was 'sidetracked'.
