Mosport Track Day

Thought I would share some pictures , from a Track Day with 6th gear , that Bruce H was kind enough to invite me too . Some back ground , Mosport is ranked as 1 of the 5 fast's Tracks in America , with 4 corners in excess of 100mph ! We managed to hit 150 mph (240 kph) plus down the back straight !
To say that Bruce is fast and smooth would be an understatement !.....lol ! And many in our club could learn a lot from his driving prowess ! The driving etiquette at this event was great and I didn't see one Blue Flag ! A testament to every ones respect for Talent and driving awareness ! We were passing many P and F cars as well as a 650 McLaren in Bruce's stock T/A . What was equally impressive was a Modded 2009 ACR with Hoosier slicks ! We kept up to the ACR on slicks ,with the T/A's stock street tires ! (Corsa's )

Our Club has 2 sponsored track days planned for 2016 that will more than cover the cost of membership for 2016 ! So join early to get the Maximum benefit !

Keep us posted for next year's date, maybe would try to fit it in my summer schedule.
I'm from Montreal, plan on going to a Tremblant track day next year with my 97 R/T10.

That was a great day, and it was great to share the track experience with you! Hopefully I'll get a chance to ride with you on track one day.

Thanks for the compliments and for sharing those photos. I'm surprised they're as sharp as they are because you looked pretty busy trying to hold the camera still under some pretty intense cornering and braking loads!

+1 for those interested in taking advantage of our club's excellent sponsored track days. My high performance driving passion began years ago when my wife gave me a car control/track day gift certificate for my birthday. The enjoyment and appreciation of my sports cars has increased ten-fold, and it's the only way to fully appreciate the performance of something like a Viper. I'd encourage everyone to come out to see what a track school is all about.

Hi Ben ! If you join the Ontario Viper Club through VOA , you will get the advance emails and Track Discounted rates which will more than offset membership cost !!!
I'm in the Toronto area , and we go to TMP and Mosport for track days . Not to mention other activities that are discounted . Hope to see you come out !!! :)

Funny you should mention the picture taking Bruce ! I do remember my cell phone bouncing around at 100 mph plus and 1.5 G Plus in the corners and thinking to myself , I'm going to loose my new iphone out the window .........lol ! :eek: But it would have been a worthy cause.....lol ! :witless:

Most run groups that I run with specifically don't allow hand held devices in the car due to safety concerns of having something loose flying around in the car.

Guys and Gals,

If you've ever considered more fully experiencing the performance potential of your Viper, driving it on a track, or improving your own driving skills, don't miss the opportunity to book our club's track day on June 5th at Mosport. We'll be using the Driver Development Course (DDC) which was designed for safe and fun instruction for novice and intermediate drivers, as well as a challenge for advanced drivers running the course at speed.

Participants will be divided into 3 groups, novice, intermediate and advanced, and those groups will be on the track at different times. That way speeds within each group will be similar so drivers can really focus on their driving techniques and instruction. My wife and I are going to share the car, Deb registering in the novice group, and myself in advanced.

Track instruction and experience should really be considered an essential part of all car ownership, and even more-so with a performance car. Driving on public roads exposes you to all kinds of unforeseen challenges and craziness, and being able to control your car in an emergency accident avoidance situation can be absolutely critical. The importance of learning and becoming comfortable with car control can not be over-stated, and there's no better opportunity or safer place than at a driving school like this.

If you're a member of the Viper Club of Ontario you should register for this very affordable club sponsored event on June 5th, and if you aren't than maybe you should be! Note that there are additional member saving if registered and paid for by May 1st so do it now!!!
