And what would you change them to?

I'm guessing a change to something in the 3.7x range would make an improvement to acceleration yet still keep things livable on the highway.

We are doing 3.73 to make 1st and 2nd better, but would love a 4.10. The 3.73 is within the 10% error the PCM will tolerate and still let the cruise control work, anything over that will confuse the PCM into thinking that 6th gear is in neutral. The Cruise would/should work in 5th though if you don't mind the extra rpm LOL.

Damn that 2.26 first gear ratio and the dumb magazine racers that look at 0-60 mph quotes. Car is a slug off the line because of it, hard to launch aggressively.

Would like 4.10 gears and a lesser 6th gear for highway rpm. Or for them to go back to the 2.66 1st gear ratio.

Did not do the math or know the work involved, but the Gen 4's 6th gear ratio of .50 should work well in a gen5 with 3.73 or 4.10

Here is the math, the launch issue is not all the gear ratio, the light flywheel does not help the launch either. If you use a 26" drag radial the the ratio looks a lot better.

For the drags, the 4.10 and a tall 18" drag radial will probably be the best we can do. The higher 6th gear makes it usable all the way around.

Bumping an old thread. Mark have you heard from your customer if he likes the gear swap? I'm beginning to think this could be a cost effective way for a seat of the pants increase in performance on the street. Thoughts?

I just did a 3.91 and it worked really great. Have not tried the cruise yet. I will let you know.

Yea most of my customers are in the cold still so not much feedback. I know the 3.73 felt much better and even deeper gears like Dan used would be awesome.
