I am wanting to buy a 2002 GTS ACR with a paxton supercharger, it is about 4 hours from my house here in Florida. I got pictures from the owner showing 'Viper Racing Solutions ' written on the valve covers and did a google search of them and read about a lot of unhappy customers in 2014. The car was in Texas in 2004-2005 according to the carfax so I assume that is when the engine work was done. I saw forum threads back in the 2003-2005 timeframe where people were happy with them, but not so it seems lately.

You might want to post pictures of the car...I'm willing to bet more than one person here could tell you more about that car by looking at it specially since the car came from Texas... I could b wrong but I think RSI was owned by a different person back then!!!

RSI built my old supercharged gen3, Paxton with built motor backnin 2013. No complaints. Sold the car a year ago and the current owner is still very happy.

I bet it is yellow with black stripes and is the 700 package. Has low miles.

How did you know, an educated guess? Right you are Sir!
It also has a fan control kit, aftermarket exhaust and headers, oil start accumulator, short throw shifter, dark looking tinted glass, Split Second computer in addition to the Paxton computer, and new aftermarket pushrods and roller rockers. Looks like my ZR-1 will have a new room mate.
I bought the owner's previous Viper. PM me if you want to chat.

It must have been the 2002 FE? He showed me pictures of that one, sharp.
Yes, that was the one. Flew down to S FL from Texas and had it shipped back.

Good move. RSI is about as shady as they come. Similar to Hennessy, they have screwed people in many ways including cutting corners in their builds and you really don't know if it was done right. I personally have been screwed by them. You made the right choice.

My friend went to look at that car but did some research and this is what he found. If it's the 2002 Final Edition ACR from Hollywood, FL number 229. He question why the car didn't have the build motor or Paxton on it from 2008. At some point the car was brought back to stock it seems. Below you'll see it even has the chrome dip ACR wheels which was mention in 2008.
He pass on the car as he didn't want one that has been torn apart. He was told the car was stock and mint.

The 2002 final edition ACR in Hollywood was #229. The 2002 final edition ACR that was own by BJMotors is #229. There is only one 2002 final edition ACR built with # 229. The car had an AME so it probably by pass the stock harness. It has to be the same car as both were 2002 final edition ACR #229 and both had chrome wheels. The chrome wheels were not a factory option. This was done by the previous owner.
He was told the car was stock when he question that #229 was fully build from his research. Some people remove all the aftermarket parts as you get more then selling it with the car.

I think OP took the car to Doug or talked to him about it. Doug has worked on it.

Anyway, it so happened to be another one, a FE ACR about 20 miles away from Doug's place that me and the wife got instead. Doug did some prior maintenance on it like all the fluid changes, clutch replacement, and had him align the door before I drove it bak to Tampa. A few minor things need looking into as well as a good cleaning, but a really solid car.
Sounds like you got a good car in the end. Congratulations !

BJ Motors was located in Virginia prior to moving to Texas a few years ago, if that helps. Like Plum said Bernie's a good guy (now runs Viper Exchange) and might be able to help fill in the cars history. Congrats on the FE, I hope she's solid and you guys get many years of reliable fun!
