Baby. McLarens can now be had in the 190's. I test drive one two seasons ago when they first debuted. The insect doors rock; you "fall in" and once inside the cockpit it feels tight but racey. The speed was pretty crazy. Aesthetically it felt like it was missing something; felt odd to have a vehicle being marketed to Ferrari & Lambo guys that didn't quite seem to look the part. Overall still pretty exciting but they had lots of tech issues with CEL's and now dealers that have inventory that has had the Iris Software update, advertise the same with confidence.

Gallardo's 14k model, last one, was just built. Nice decade run but totally time for a replacement. Hearing 600HP from a beefed version of their V10, dual clutch tranny which is a huge improvement from the e gear of prior gen, and styling like a baby aventadors. Pricing is rumored to be 250k but with premium rumored to compete with 458 price tag, so a bit more than what you can get a McLaren for.

Tough to say with the camo on the latter, but assuming the above, which is your choice?

Lambo

What a great feeling it is to be in a position to even seriously consider this to be a decision that needs to be made, right?

Nothing wrong with preowned. Both my Bentley and my Lamborghini were CPO vehicles and I got great deals on them. Plus with an exotic, second owner makes most sense. Original MSRP on my bull was 232k but I got for 165k and then owned for 3.5 years losing only 24% when I sold it; the math works out to be like nine hundred bucks per month for 42 months.

I'm leaning towards the new bull; might wait for depreciation and to allow any bugs to work out, plus I'd really want the spyder. On the other hand, if it falls in place ill grab one. Hearing push to start, new nav and an early 2014 reveal without camo; tick tock.

Ps: variety is the spice of life ;)

12C never looked "wow" to me, sort of like it was released 5-7 yrs too late. The Gallardo was more modern looking, even though it was older. The 458 and the P1 are fantastic in design though. The new Gallardo replacement should be pretty sweet. At the Lambo factory, during the tour they referred to the Gallardo as "The Ancient One". LOL

Yeah it's time has passed. And they tried every variant under the sun too; my favorite one has got to be the Performante.

A baby aventador would be sweet for a successor; in spy shots the rear looks like a muira and a Sesto elements and the side vent sorta looks like a murcielago design. German heart with Italian Soul= win.

My dealer told me to get on the list for the g successor a few months ago. If you plan on getting it better get in touch with a dealership fast because the waiting list is gonna be huge.

get the mp4, swap for the cabrera or wtv they will call it in a few years

Jon my dealer says ordering doesn't open until 2nd quarter of 2014 on new Lambo. Is this correct?

They are taking the deposits now though.

Yes. And I think they only want like 5k; but I'm not putting a deposit on a car with camo lol. I want to see it first. Plus I learned the hard way with the gen V that building to spec requires more patience than I have. I also want to confirm the dual clutch.

Wouldn't mind grabbing a demo at the end of next season when the hype dies down. I'm partial to a spyder as I lived my G spyder but that won't be for years.

What's the word on drive train? Awd is my guess; but when they came out with the Balboni / lp-550-2. It seemed to bring cost down and obviously was rwd. Wonder if that's how it will be played on this model...?

I'm sure they are going to milk this one just like the G
Like I said, get the mp4 and make the switch in 2016

I'd really want the spyder.

A lot of Lambo boys hate the spyders and I really don't know why. I have an 08 Twin Turbo G Spyder and I love it. And I got it for less than a Gen 5 Viper.

I owned a 2007 G Spyder for 3.5 years & loved it!

It's why I want another one!

I really didn't want a G, seemed like a wimpy car to me. I really wanted a Murci. After I got the G - AMAZING. I can't imagine a better car. The turbos on the Viper are violent, on the G, you don't even know they are there, it is just fast as crap - 1000HP.

Yeah plus the G isn't as finicky as the Murci. Also when I was in the market for an lp640 I remember it being 10 inches longer & 6 inches wider than the baby bull, which was too snug for my garage set up.

This coming year will be the debut of the new one & looking forward to it

There is NOTHING cooler on the planet than the P1.

Except the F1.

If it were up to me I would go with the Huracan in a heartbeat. I supposed both cars would be a bit of a PITA to service but I have yet to see a McLaren 'dealer' outside of NYC. Lamborghini has such a big following too, so socially like the Viper you will be bombarded with questions and picture taking with out a doubt.

Had Gordon Murray had any input on McLaren's cars today, those cars would probably would be talked about alot more.

I was thinking more along the lines of trading the Maserati for the Lambo & of trading the V coupe for the V roadster.

Why you wanna buy? All yours for 150k! 8-p
