I spoke to Eric over at prefix and to the best of his knowledge you can put a clear bra on the matte finishes without any problems. Anybody who is familiar with clear bra's knows that if you remove them incorrectly you can damage any paint job but the matte is not predisposed to being damaged easier then a regular clear coat. It is a matte clear coat. What they do is spray the color, sand it and then place a matte clear on it. He is contacting his team to verify his thoughts and will get back to me in the next day or two. He is also going to try finding out who in prefix may have said this to a customer/s.

I have my anodized carbon TA covered in a matte clear bra, entirely. It looks darn good and was a professional job. I know people out there believe it's not possible but experts in this field do exist that can do this. They do lambos and ferraris that come in matte paint and have been for years. I'm trying to clear the air for those who are interested in matte and protecting it. The matte clear bra by expel is amazing and made maintenance easier then a regular clear coat hands down. FYI I don't do clear bra installs, I work in medicine, so nothing is in it for me by promoting this product.

I'll update the post further with Eric's comments in the next day or two.

From the little I know yes its the clear that gives the matt effect . Clear should be fine but do a sample piece just to make sure it will look ok compared to uncovered areas. Might give it a more glossy look or it maybe fine

My entire car is covered in the matte stealth expel stuff. It is not as much of a matte finish but still matte. It's hard to explain but it makes the paint pop even more. Wish they could duplicate that from the factory.

I just watched a video where matte xpel stealth was installed on a white Audi R8. It looks like it did a nice job of turning its glossy clear coat into a matte finish. If I ever get bored maybe I'll look into that, you don't see any matte white cars around.

I recently did a matte bra in a carbon 1 of 1 car and although the film was definitely matte (Expel) it still had more gloss than the Vipers matte finish. I personally thought it looked pretty damn cool but I think the only way to get the entire car to match perfectly is to wrap the entire thing like mentioned above.

That is going to be one sick ACR! Hopefully my buddy Darius doesn't read this. He was really considering a matte carbon ACR extreme...I'm sure this will make him want to change his color again.

Lol, there is a special option on mine that will make it unique. Once it's all confirmed I'll reveal ;) We can both have one :)

As promised Eric and I spoke yesterday again. He spoke to several people at prefix and the risks of putting a clear bra on a matte finish are the same for a clear coat finish. No different. Hope more matte guys come along with this information.
