Viper Drag Racing Sunday October 4th, 11:00-5:00 at Island Dragway

At least 6 people so far between the NJ and PA regions want to do some drag racing so we are heading to Island Dragway on Sunday October 4th. This should be a lot of fun even if you want to come in your daily driver or Viper and just watch. This will be open to friends with other cars too so get the word out. Let me know if you plan to race or attend so we can get an approximate head count ?


Here are some quick details on Test and Tune:

Sunday gates open at 11:00 and racing is 12:00-5:00.
Race $40
Watch $15

Overall the requirements to race are pretty simple. Shirt, long pants, shoes and Snell approved helmet.

Helmet rental $5
Fire Jacket rental for cars with aftermarket turbos or superchargers $15.

The person I spoke to there said we can work something out even if we want to set up a group bracket race.

So I'm car 22 on the slips. The one run that I would have cracked 120 mph ......the equipment malfunctioned I was up 2 mph in the 1/8 on that run over the first 2 passes. The 4th run I switched lanes and tried to get through the trap at the top of third......that plan failed, hit the rev limiter well before the trap that's why the mph fell off so bad.
