I wanted to post this Video that Ralph sent me from his Friday trackday at Pitt Race with our new dampers on Storm. Quick disclaimer, Ralph was my first customer for this setup, he paid full retail, and installed these on his personal car, and I greatly appreciate his time and energy during his evaluation process. I have done my best to describe the technology on the forum but it's always nice to have someone who has really run the gammet with suspension technology on the Gen V take a stab at explaining just how special this system is. I was able to get Michael Levitas the owner of TPC Racing and 24 Hour of Dayton Winner out for the day with Ralph. Michael is our partner in this project and is truly a setup genius in Ralphs words.

I spent a good part of last Friday chatting with them both and was really excited to hear just how good the car was. The car was so good that Michael Levitas spent most of the rest of the weekend buying a TA 1.0 from ViperExchange. Ralph goes into even more detail in his description of the video and really talks CAN bus and what is available to the suspension and DSC controller.

I have these kits instock and ready to ship please email me awheeler@viperexchange.com

Great review! Stamp of approval from Ralph is HUGE! The video is great, but what he wrote in the caption for the video is even more convincing for me.

What Ralph wrote:

I use my GTS predominantly for lapping days and have been looking for something that I could bias more towards track driving. The stock SRT system is outstanding and matches the car and it's intended mission perfectly. The VE system is based on a fairly exotic (and albeit expensive) system that uses a needle style valve that can be infinitely controlled. Using the very high tech on board telemetry which is embedded in every Gen5 Viper. The system is able to read Steering angle, brake force, all axis G loads, speed, throttle rates and individual wheel speed. The CAN bus system on the Gen5s is a very high speed processor and every bit as sophisticated as what is on Europe's best crop of sports cars. This weekend I had the benefit of Mike Levitas (Of TPC Racing) who is a very successful pro racer as well as a dynamics specialist. He has been working closely with Ben Keating at the Viper Exchange. Most of Mike's experience has been programming and tuning late model racing Porsches. In fact the systems are so similar that he was able to apply his knowledge directly to the Viper Exchange system. The result is a system that feels incredibly intuitive and natural. It rides really well and actually softer than stock at low G loads. Yet for the 9/10ths drivers out there it does some things that are mind bending. The system is so quick that it reacts in milliseconds, firming and softening the suspension based on driver inputs and loads. It would take another 5000 words to describe what it can do and does so well. What was already an outstanding drivers car now has a more expanded envelope that feels supernatural.

Good stuff, I asked him on instagram a month back and he sort of wasn't set on them yet but sounds like he is now quite a fan!

Nice! Thanks for sharing this. Ralph is a good test driver. Seen him drive in person and he know the Gen V.

Great to see Ralph being an early entrant to these advanced suspensions system. Speaks volumes on the quality and tech of this product. Thanks for sharing Andy.

We made a couple slight calibration adjustments that really made a difference. I just uploaded his calibration to my dsc controller and I am going to run both Ben's calibration and Ralphs next weekend at COTA and see how they differ. Really cool stuff, doesn't get any better than having guys like this working on this project.

I was there the same day attending a PDE. It was awesome watching Ralph run the track and talking to him about the suspension. First class individual and product. My next mod for sure.

An amazing mod that can add performance and comfort to your total driving experience at only the expense of adding the suspension. Generally speaking suspension improvements improve either the street comfort or track adjust-ability, this suspension adds to both street and track and can be changed at the push of a button. The ability to trade setups will add to the capabilities very quickly.

Yeah he isn't afraid to jump in the deep end with anything that he thinks can make the car better. Great customer and I am lucky to have him as one.

Very envious that you were there, looks like yall had a great day!

Agree Richard it gets overlooked that it does improve road manners, but the car is a joy to drive now.

Street and track.

How easy will this be for the average consumer to calibrate at home if its needed?

Hey guys is there a huge improvement on the GTS? I hated my base SRT 14 and was going to go this route since it had a horrible ride quality on the street, but I really like the street set up and feel on my GTS 14. Does it really make a huge street difference? Or is it more track focused?

Not hard but we are not unlocking the DSC controllers just yet. Good news is that you have Ben Keating, and Ralph Gilles input of the track and street settings so probably not a whole lot to be gaines from what those two were able to come up with.

Both, honestly the road manners of my car are really really nice in street mode, much better than my 14 or 15 road in street mode. Even in track mode it rides better than it used to in street mode. If you are concerned about comfort it's a no brainer.

Did you have a chance to pop a center dash from a factory dual mode car into an SRT and see if it was plug and play?

I'm thinking this might be a Christmas present to myself, Canadian Peso be damned!

Not yet, but keep on me about it and I'll get it done.

Sounds like you have the seal of approval Andy on the new suspension !
Would be interesting to see what the difference is in time on a given track , with a consistent driver between STOCK Bilstien suspension and VE electronic suspension . With all other variables kept the same .

Great to hear Ralph loves it...Sooooo...When is it coming as stock "optioned" equipment on the Vipers? :)

When you buy a new Viper from ViperExchange ;) At least it can work that way right now. Not sure about production though but I'm sure they're thinking about it.

Andy, what's the name of the program or whatever he using to show g force and speeds in the video? I see the Harry's lap timer but the apps I find are nothing like this setup.

One more thing.
Since the viper is all canbus achitecture, can the factory suspension buttons be used as presets for the VE suspension controller if it is already plugged into the system to get all the info it needs?

Its called Harry's Lap Timer - www.gps-laptimer.de . From what I've seen and used its the best track day app out there. Huge support from the developer and compatible with almost all OBD2 wifi/bluetooth readers as well. Well worth the $20-30 for the full version of the app if you do the occasional track day.

That's exactly how it works. Your factory suspension buttons control the DSC. Your dash looks the same as it always did when switching modes.

Only problem I had with Harry's is my iphone would get hot and go into thermal shutdown. Of course those were upper 80's and up days.
