View Full Version : New to Viper
In between my first and second C6 Corvette (not a fan of the C7), I had gone to a local dealer to look at a 2014 base Viper......before the price reductions. A little bit out of the price range I was looking to spend so I moved on to my second Corvette.
Fast forward and I am on a weekend mountain drive with a friend who had just traded his ZR1 in on a 2015 Viper......so I start looking around to see what I can find on the pre-owned market. Found a 2014 in my price range and the deal worked out. It turned out to be the same car I had looked at, I guess it was meant to be.

Love that color. ;) Congrats!
Thanks for the comments and warm welcome :D
How does the Viper compare to the C6 LS7 Corvette? With the Viper the steering is sharper and more responsive, the seats are a LOT better, and electronics are from this decade. It is more raw and a little intimidating for my passengers; I don't think it's quite the widow maker it used to be though, my initial thoughts are that it is almost as forgiving as the Corvette so far. It is a lot of fun and maybe work travel will wind down long enough for me to take it to the mountains where I can offer a better review. This car really reminds me of the Lotus cars I have owned with the seating and cockpit feel but more powerful. That said I did love the 427, maybe I'll have another LS7 Corvette some day as a garage mate for the Viper......just not a C7 fan yet, one of the reasons I left Corvette for Viper.

To everyone else, if you haven't taken a look at the personal site in his signature, you should check it out. http://billswebspace.com There is a wealth of information there about his current and previous rides.
My daily is a Jeep Wrangler and I enjoyed reading about the mods you've done. Thanks for sharing Bill!

I love the interior color. Vipers are much more fun to drive than vettes.
I agree, I AM having more fun in the Viper :D
