A few people have expressed interest in drag racing their cars so if we can get enough cars/people then we may be able to set up an event.

After speaking to a representative from Island Dragway it would probably make sense for us to show up for one of their scheduled Open Admission Test and Tune events and this way we can pick a few dates and watch for good weather. 100 cars racing is typical for a Friday and even more on Sundays. Everyone would also be welcome to invite other people they know with different cars to join in the fun.

Please let me know if you are interested in racing or watching and whether you like Friday Night or Sunday or if either works for you ?

Here are some quick details on Test and Tune:

Friday Nights
Race $25
Watch $12

Sundays
Race $40
Watch $15

Overall the requirements to race are pretty simple. Shirt, long pants, shoes and Snell approved helmet.

Helmet rental $5
Fire Jacket rental for cars with aftermarket turbos or superchargers $15.

Schedule... There's a pop out to view the entire schedule.

I have been there with the Viper on a Sunday. It is a lot of fun but very crowded. The only thing that can be a problem is the times I was there there were many breakdowns that would shut the track down for along time. The one Sunday I was able to get only one pass in. I would certainly be up for going and trying again. Also fire jacket is required with NOS as well.
