No problem Plum! As long as you wear some Viper swag, you're in. :) Might even be able to ride shotgun with someone.

Wife and I will be in HHI, SC for annual vacation that week. Hopefully we'll be able to stop by and meet some of you!

Hope you can make it!
Regarding caravanning to Charleston from Raleigh, it looks like we can go 40E to 95S to 26E and it takes about 4.5 hours. There is an alternative of 40E to Rt 701 to 17S right into Mt Pleasant, and it is 30 miles shorter, 30 minutes longer, and probably way more fun to drive than being on interstate highways for 4.5 hours.
Thoughts?

I like the idea of the scenic route...let's try to slither out after the bulk of the morning rush hour finishes...and not waste our time sitting in Raleigh traffic!
We could have a couple places to meet up. There is a rest stop on 40E that is (I think) just prior to hitting I-95. We could meet up there about 9 a.m. Bill is coming over from Siler City, so he might hook up with us where 421 intersects 701 just north of Clinton. Seth is coming out of Fayetteville, and could meet up there too.
Can anyone recommend a lunch stop, probably somewhere around Conway, SC?

Dugan and Nina are out for Charleston. Last minute decision that we aren't going to be able to make it happen.

The folks from southern Wake are meeting at the Taco Bell at 40 and 210. That is where we met in the past. Does that work? Maybe around 10ish?
I think that will work Mike. Let me ask the folks up here and get back with you asap.
Nina and Dugan, sorry to hear you can't make it. Hope all goes well with the kitchen renovations this weekend!

Hey everyone...I have been closely reviewing the weather situation in both NC and SC through several weather outlets and it sure looks nasty for both NC and SC. Charleston now has a 90% chance of rain on Saturday and the storm remnants have the potential to be very ugly!
For these reasons, Stella and I have decided that we are not gonna make the trip to Charleston. We will batten down the hatches here in Raleigh!

It is with deep regret that we have decided to cancel the "Vipers Invade Charleston" event this weekend. The forecast is looking grim with 5-8" of potentially heavy rains through Sunday.
13365
We know that due to their tire footprint, Vipers are not conducive to wet roads, and with heavy rains in the forecast, we have safety concerns. The relentless rain will likely affect the enjoyment of the event as well. We will begin planning another date, perhaps in the Spring. Hopefully the sun will come back by then! :)
To avoid any cancellation fees, please call the hotel today to cancel your reservation. For your convenience, the hotel phone number is 843-881-3300.
A big "thank you" to the following members for helping us plan this multi-day event:
Kristian
Scott
Donna
Shon
All is not lost though! We have a great Charleston event plan already outlined for next year!

Oooo, yea, that looks bad....phew!
Obama declared a state of emergency in SC. Wow, if we had been caught in that flooding in our Vipers...

It's been a pretty wild weekend here in charleston. Since Friday morning, we have had between 15-24" of rain depending on where you want to measure. Thankfully my house hasn't had any issues but several roads around me are shut down and there was even a curfew in place last night to keep people off the streets. Needless to say, it was a good thing the event was canceled.
Hi Kris, Glad to hear you and your family are okay. That is a crazy amount of rain...

Looks like I may get to go to Charleston but with the Army instead of the Viper Club. The state of SC is currently utilizing Title 32 resources but they are nearing saturation and if they request Title 10 resources through NORTHCOM I will be flying to SC to support humanitarian relief.
